8 days...

Hey guys! It's been 8 days.. I told you I was busy! Even last night I taught at school all day then was home for 10 minutes to change for work at my LSS (Local Scrapbook Store) at night!! What a month September has been... I have some cool projects that I get to share this weekend and I can't wait; but for now, I want to share you some cards I have been working on for one thing or another...

inside the flap:

I made this for a little boy who's friends with my son. My boy thought the interactiveness of the card was super cool, and I was glad I could impress my toughest critic! I decorated this card with some SRM sticker sentiments and I think it was SO flukey that "make a wish" fit exactly on the angles of the star.. That was serendipity!! haha...

I made this card with some stamps from a beautiful Technique Tuesday set called "Thinking of You" while playing with some new-to-me Pink Paislee stuff!! I added the random bling as an afterthought and it ended up being my favourite element.. The lily was paper pieced so it stood out nice and bright against the olive patterned paper.

So stay tuned for some exciting announcements and awesome projects on World Cardmaking Day!!! (on Saturday)

And the Madness Continues...

Phew... This week is going to be unbelievable with not only teaching everyday but then

  • taking a Basic Grey Calendar Class tonight
  • teaching a Copic Christmas class Tuesday night
  • Conducting Opus One Wednesday night
  • Working at Clipper Street Thursday night
  • NIGHT OFF FRIDAY
  • Conducting the Provincial Honour Vocal Jazz all day Saturday
It's gonna be one of those weeks.. I don't even know when I'm going to have time to eat! But, thankfully all of those engagements are doing things I love, so it's not THAT bad.. I'm just whining..

So here's a layout I designed for an upcoming (November-December) class at Clipper Street. I LOVE it.

A whole lotta Jovial by Basic Grey is on this layout, along with some yummy PomPom ribbon (BoBunny) and my handy-dandy white gel pen.

So... aforementioned crazy week in mind, I may not be back for a few days! ;)
Thanx for stopping by!

White Sticker Sentiments??

  • The "XO" and "hugs" are some of SRM's newest sticker designs.. Click on THIS POST to check out all of the new sets, and a giveaway!!!
  • I used a cute little Pure Innocence girl in digital form found here

  • I used an adorable stamp from The Greeting Farm called "Happy Day". I've been trying to switch up my hair colours lately and came up with this combo using the Copic E40's. The patterned papers are Pink Paislee, and then I stuck that perfect white sentiment on the dark paper! Look how it pops!!

The Trouble with School...

The trouble with school, especially in September, is that it really takes a bite out of my craft time. Like, a lot. Like completely... I have been photocopying lessons, picking out music, auditioning choir students, working at night, and I am completely WIPED OUT!! So that's my long, drawn-out apology for not posting too often over the last couple weeks..

I made a couple of cards with some very fun Basic Grey chipboard and papers from the new "Jovial" line. I am in love with it. The colours are a little odd for Christmas, but they work!!

Baubles.. Punch them out, stick them on. Easy? I think so...

This card was a little more involved, but still really easy! I used that cool black "ribbon" again.. Yes, black on a Christmas card!!!

So thanx for stopping by!! (and thanx for stopping by when I didn't post anything too...)

Mmmmm Yummy...

Mmm-mmm yummy... I used some delicious papers from October Afternoon, some images from "Icing on the Cake" stamp set by Technique Tuesday, a tiny little SRM sentiment and some soft Copic airbrushing.. I also die-cut some cork for a scalloped accent.

Take care!

Hallowe'en is nigh..

And don't you just love it?? I really am loving that people are decorating for Hallowe'en. It's becoming more adult oriented, and I love it. I am going to give out Hallowe'en cards this year, even if it's just because I love making them and I'll probably have a pretty hefty stash by the time Oct. 31st rolls around.. Anyway, I used a brand new printable stamp set from The Cutting Cafe called "Hallowe'en Time" and used some Tattered Angels mist to spook it up a little.

Cool eh? Thanks for stopping by!!

About a Boy...

Today I wanted to show a couple of projects featuring the "Everyday Boy" sticker sheet. You can also check out the SRM Blog with more projects using this sheet AND to win some stickers of your very own!
I love this set because there are so many ways to cut them up, use on a card, use on a layout, use with other stickers and I'm having lots of fun exploring all of the options! First is a layout:

If you look at the journaling you'll see I inserted a couple of the sticker words to highlight what I was trying to say:

Next, I paired "Boy" with a birthday sticker sentiment to make a quick and easy birthday card:

And finally, I've been having a blast playing with Tattered Angels mist, and I created this card that is like, totally a boy card... totally...

I can't wait to give this one away.. So fun, so boyish.. Love it!

We all need to make more masculine cards/layouts, so why don't you try it today??!! Have fun!!

Collage

What do you do when your sticker sheet is almost empty, it's cut up, and kinda falling apart? Make a collage card!

1) I used a bunch of stickers from Sticker Sentiments - Happy Birthday to fill up as much space as I could on the green layer.

2) Then I popped it up on foam dots and I was done!

This card is a result of me not having ANY masculine birthday cards in my stash, and we were headed to my brother-in-law's house for his birthday. I think I have my mission!!

Thanx for looking!

Say it, don't Spray it!

Or spray it, because it's fun! I really like LOOKING at all of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, but haven't fully taken the plunge yet. I've just dipped my toes in...

I used some Tim Holtz templates and some glimmer mist and played!! I've discovered you can't be a control-freak kind of person when you work with the mists because they act in unpredictable ways, but it's sure fun!! I have just purchased a few more colours and I hope to post some cool stuff on here soon! I have ideas, but whether or not they work out.....
