Chalkboard Memories: Now Available!

I can now say that the stamp set I helped design is now available for purchase from There She Goes Stamps!

Here's a look at the whole set:

I designed all of the sentiments on the right and Jessica put together some great accessories that can facilitate you using other stamps from your collection to get them to have that chalkboard look!

Have a search on Pinterest for "Chalkboard" and you'll be inspired! I found gems like this:

Notice the vines on either side of "pumpkin pie?" Jessica added little elements like that!

Anyway!! I'm off to cook up some ideas. I really hope you like the set and PLEASE let me know if you get it and make sure you send me a link!!

Ummm…. So I designed a stamp set!

I have been waiting for this day for a long time: together with my great friend Jessica I designed a stamp set inspired by the chalkboard craze that’s happening in the design world. I had the wild idea that I would learn an illustrator program on the fly and put together some sentiments with lots of beautiful fonts and layers and… Oh my gosh! How crazy was I, but Jessica was so helpful and supportive and together we’ve released this set that I’m so very proud of.
As soon as I got the sample set in my hand I got to work and made a whole bunch of cards. The four large sentiments were my contribution to the stamp set!
chalkboard1
chalkboard2
chalkboard3chalkboard4

Jessica had the vision to design the cute chalkboard frame and some other fun embellishments I know you’ll love! (I am now teaching these cards at Clipper Street Scrapbooking Company!)

I hope you love it as much as I do, and I already have some more sets in the works! I’ve found a new passion!!

We're Off To See The Wizard

Weeeeeee’re off to see the Wizard!!! Yes, we are! Our new Oz inspired stamps are just so much fun we couldn’t resist focusing on them first from our April 2013 catalog! Plus our very own Lisa Hindsley drew some of the most darling characters, so it gives us a chance to brag on her. AND it highlights our Digital Downloads since they’re new as well and include two sets of phrases just for our Oz images! So join us as we ease on down that Yellow Brick Road this week…

photo (2)
I brought this stamp to a crop because I knew I wanted to colour it and I knew I had a bunch of time to get it done – little did I know I would take 3 HOURS to colour it!! Sometimes I take things a little too far but once I start something I can’t stop…
photo (3)
The basic colouring of this took a long time (colouring all aspects of each image with minimum three colours) but in addition to that I added shading with my Pastel Chalk pencil to amp up the contrast. PHEW!
Thanks for stopping by and make sure you stop by the Stampendous! Blog for more reveals! We are all so excited about these stamps!!

Our newest sock goblin from Wendy Leach…be still my heart. Larry is ready for a day at the office, can’t you tell?
photo (44)
Wendy’s illustrations are so adorable and I love “Larry” for a few reasons: he’s male (we can always use more masculine images, right?), he’s an image that can be paired with a lot of different sentiments, and lastly, he’s a joy to colour!!
photo (45)
Isn’t he cute??

Larry is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 5 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

April Greenhouse

April’s Greenhouse Society stamp set ships today and we are featuring another round of creations!

Today I decided to use the chalkboard technique to feature the pretty tulips. Here it is:

photo (46)

I had some beautiful My Mind’s Eye scraps in my bin and I thought they would look good with the black chalkboard… It’s an interesting look, that’s for sure!

( I do the chalkboard look by stamping in Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder… I then rub white ink on the paper with my fingers… pretty easy!)

photo (38)
So this is my husband. hahahaha. I told him tonight when I made this card that I’ve found his new “signature stamp” and this guy is it! Trust me, this looks just like him.

photo (39)
It was lots of fun colouring all of his lumpy muscles, I tell ya! Once I coloured him with Copic markers I added some shading with a black pastel chalk pencil.

It took a little begging, but we finally got Torico to illustrate a pirate set for us!! If you “need a little ‘aye’ candy”, well then “X marks the spot”.

Shiver Me Timbers is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 24 stamps and will sell for $24.00. The new stamps will be available on Saturday, April 27th at 11pm.

I’m sure it comes as NO surprise to all you loyal There She Goes fans, but we couldn’t go without creating a companion set to go along with this SUPER fun set!! Leave it to the Trendsetters to come up with so many FUNNY and AWESOME sentiments that one set just couldn’t hold them all.

Ship Happens is a  3x4 set that includes a total of 9 stamps and will sell for $9.00. The new stamps will be available on Saturday, April 27th at 11pm.

Design Team Calendar

I am getting too busy to keep track of things in my head so I made a DT calendar that's featured on the SRM Blog today.
This is an 8x8 calendar from SRM.

I kept it relatively simple because I knew it would be handled for a whole year!
I like the elements all grouped in the corner - it's a nice way to create a balanced design!

Here is April, the first month of my calendar:

I have entered in assignments for the teams that have specific due-dates and deadlines, and every design team has a different colour. Visually, I can then see when I have a busy week and who I am busy with!! At the bottom I will add assignments from teams that are on-going!

Supplies:
SRM Products: 8x8 Calendar, Calendar Months Lrg Snappy, Year Of Memories 2013
My Favorite Things stamp: Doodle Garden Hunny Bunny

Love: Art Journal with Technique Tuesday

Ten years of Technique Tuesday means a year-long party!

And to celebrate the anniversary, we are bringing back some of our popular products from the past throughout 2013. (So far, we've brought back Adored by Ali Edwards, Hash Tags & More, and Petal Power.)

And we are happy to share with you the latest addition (or re-introduction) to our line-up: Irony. We have featured a bunch of projects on the Technique Tuesday blog too!

I used the Irony stamp set on this fun art journal page:

I’ve been having fun with paint… Can you tell?

My parents got me a gift certificate for the local art supply store and I took the opportunity to pick up some paints that I enjoy working with in my art journal and on my mixed media canvases.

They are:

Liquitex Ink

Lumiere by Jacquard

FW Pearlescent Inks

All of the aforementioned paint can be applied in various ways (paint brush, dropper, fingers if you’re daring) but my favourite method for the inks is to dropper them onto the canvas and mist them with a little water to let them run down the paper. It’s fun and you never know what you’re going to end up with!

For now (until I grow out of it) I have all of my specialty paints, as I call them, in a small/medium-sized art bin.

That’s all for now! I’m off to do a little birthday shopping!! Take care!

Stampbook Saturday: Project Life Round 2

Hi there!
It’s my turn to post on the TSG Blog today and I’ve been challenged to use stamps on a scrapbook layout. Since I’ve been trying my hand at Project Life I thought I would try a layout with 6x6 sections.

photo (35)
I made the layouts quite simple by using bright cardstock and some coordinating patterned papers (Echo Park) from a 6x6 paper pad. I added a little bit of washi tape here-and-there as well as some cute chipboard elements.
I stamped on a couple of those pieces:
photo (36)
I used a very popular TSG set with the project life crowd called Oh Snap! I never thought of this set before in this way, but it’s perfect for scrapbooking and art journaling!

photo (30)
I just added a few stamped touches as to let the pictures be the star… It is my understanding that Project Life layouts are supposed to be on the simple side… That’s okay with me!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

There She Goes (Again!)

Hi there! Last weekend I hung out with some good friends and we laughed a lot, and crafted a little.. Isn't that always the way? Everytime I go to a crop I bring buckets of stuff because I am going to be SO busy and productive and I have to bring it all because I don't know what I will or won't need.
Well let's just say that in a total of 17 hours I got 5 cards and 2 layouts done.. hahaha
I used to beat myself up about it, but I look at it as a chance to get out and spend time with like-minded friends and have a few much-needed belly laughs! If I get some cards done, then good on me!

Here are two cards that I made for today's There She Goes (Again!) feature at the TSG blog. We are featuring some oldie-but-goody stamp sets and I couldn't stop at just one.

This card uses stamps from Lighten Up:

photo (29)
I love the graphic look of this card. The BasicGrey papers add a really nice punch of colour.

This card uses stamps from Blossom by Blossom.

photo (28)
The illustrations are beautiful and so nice to colour.

Oh hey... Today's my birthday! The big 3-6. It's nothing monumental or anything, it just sounds weird to say out loud. I am 36. Weird... Anyway! I am going out tonight with family and friends and I hope to have tonnes of fun!

Have a great weekend!

Monster Birthday

We are nearing the 100th sketch at Deconstructed Sketches and I heard Jen has something up her sleeve – so stay tuned! For now I have a happy little card to share with you using Deconstructed Sketch #98

monsterbday
So this is a new-to-me stamp (and coordinating die) called Little Monsters Balloon from Annabelle Stamps and I’m smitten! He is a dorky and cute little guy, isn’t he? I paired him with some manly Echo Park papers and coloured him with Copic markers. This was a fun creation!

Check out Jen’s Deconstructed Sketch blog for more info and inspiration! I hope you can play along this week!

Project Life?

So I was challenged by Stampendous! to use some Project Life sleeves and I gotta tell you:
I had a HECK OF A TIME!!

I don’t know if I was obsessing about it being “perfect” or because I wanted to add more stuff… But it took me a long time to get the first page completed.

Here’s my first try:

photo (31)

There’s also the problem of photographing them… but that’s another day.
I used this assignment to try to get some more of my wedding photos scrapped. It worked out well! I have a lot of close-up shots and this is the perfect avenue for them.

photo (32)
I like that it doesn’t take much to fill a panel. I stamped this sentiment (NEW! Stampendous stamp coming soon…) onto a ticket die cut and that’s it!

photo (33)
Stampendous! has a stamp set coming out that’s geared towards journaling and Smash-book type papercrafts. It’s very handy for Project Life!

Here’s my second attempt that I actually kind of love:

photo (34)
With this configuration I was able to keep all of the photos full-size and I really appreciated that. There are some photos I can’t bear to cut! lol…

If you aren’t familiar with Project Life, here’s a little info:
Becky Higgins’ Project Life has taken the craft and scrapbooking world by storm. Lots of folks have embraced the commitment to simply scrapbook one single page or a two page layout of ordinary life per week. A way to celebrate all that is normal and right with your world, or even the special occasions or big events that happen with some normal life in between.  Here’s the Project Life Philosophy -
