Annabelle Stamps Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Annabelle Stamps September Blog Hop!!  This month we have two brand new clear sets as well as a brand new digital product called Printable Pages!!

To start are our new clear sets Scribble Scrabble 1 & 2.  These are large 6" x 8" sets and you can see we've created a theme for each - round for 1 and squares for 2!  This could open the way for all sorts of shapes to come don't you think :-)

First up is my card with Scribble Scrabble 2:

As you may have noticed, I've been loving making my own backgrounds lately and this set is AWESOME for that kind of stuff! I chose some funky colours and stamped the shape randomly all over the cardstock. When the ink dried I "scribbled" around the shapes... Fun, right?

And here's my card with the printable pages:

I coloured the image with pencil crayons and odourless mineral spirits... Was a fun change!

We have two prizes to give away this month!  One person will receive Scribble Scrabble 1 and Christmas 1 and another the Scribble Scrabble 2 and Christmas 2!!  All you need to do is follow along with our hop and comment as you go before heading back to this blog to add your name on the Inlinkz below, it's so easy and you don't need a blog to play along!!  The Inlinkz will stay open until Sunday night 8.00pm AEST so you have a full 48hrs to play along and share with your friends :)

Next on the hop is Marcia Pringle
Enjoy!

There She Goes September Release: Day 3

Today we have another SUPER fun set from Melyssa, one that will get you ready for all your Halloween gift giving ideas!! Not only is it a PERFECT tag set, the sentiments and image could be used for cards, scrapbooking, and anything else you desired!

I LOVE the fact that there are lots of different label shapes to choose from and they are so gorgeous that they can definitely be used year-round... Check it out:

I decorated this fun kraft glassine bag with today's set AND an image from Bombdiggity! I was using my imagination when I paired "electrify" with a bomb, but my hubby liked it so I went with it!! Holding the flap down is a square of sticky-backed velcro so when I fill this bag with treats it stays closed!

Halloween Tags is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 19 stamps and will sell for $18.00.

Would you like to win the new Halloween Tags stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. A new Halloween set from Torico, full of witches, black cats, bats, and fun! Perfect for all your Halloween needs. Or not! I went in a totally different direction with today's card and decided to combine a few other TSG sets...

So that cute black cat is from Bewitched By You and as soon as I saw it this scene popped in my head... Weird, right? I grabbed the cityscape and the streetlight from The Doxie With Moxie and the sentiment from Cattitude and got to work. I love it when I have an idea and it actually works... lol.

Totally Witchin’ is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $9.00 and Bewitched By You is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 17 stamps and will sell for $18.00.

Gelato Background Tutorial

Hey guys! I say this EVERY September but MAN it takes a while to get into the swing of things - especially since every year brings a new schedule! I am loving the extra musical activities I've added to my life but I am still trying to catch up with my craft life. I am so used to having a few week-nights to work on projects but lately I've been busy every night. I know I'll get into a groove, it's just going to take a bit....

So today I have a little tutorial up on the Stampendous Blog featuring this card:

It's rustic, it's warm, and it screams fall to me!

I'm crafting up a storm today, which is perfect because it's pouring rain outside, so stay tuned for an action-packed week!!

September Greenhouse Society Stamp Set

Hi there!

Well it feels like I have been in a tornado for the last couple of weeks - but this school year is shaping up to be wonderful in so many ways. My students are wonderful, my choirs are off to a great start and I'm looking forward to another successful year. It's just a lot of work, right???!!!

I have mentioned before that I DO NOT garden. I used to say that I have a black thumb, but the truth is I kill flowers because I'm not interested in gardening... It's bad because my mom gardened all my life - I just never got an appreciation for it. I guess it's good that I live in a townhouse where the landscaping is taken care of!

I do remember my mom growing a lot of Moring Glory's though, so I tried to colour them just like I remembered:

Here's my card with this month's Greehouse Society Stamp Set:

I stamped it in brown Archival ink and coloured it in with Distress Markers on Ranger's new watercolor paper. I really like it because it's super-smooth on one side and the image stamped perfectly the first time! That almost never happens on regular watercolor paper...

After I finished colouring I misted the whole thing with a little Mr. Huey's Shine. Just a little though, I didn't want my colouring to run!

I paired the stamp with papers from My Mind's Eye and mounted it all on grey cardstock. I kind of like the brown stamping with the grey! That wasn't intentional, but now I know it's a cool combo.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a restful Sunday.

Now on to our Friday Feature, and this week we are taking a look at one of our new cling releases Butterfly Sunshine.

I was playing around with the sunburst stamps in the set and thought I would do a little chalkboard action... I always have fun with a little black cardstock and white embossing powder! lol..

Have a great weekend!

Stampendous and Maya Road Blog Hop

All week the Stampendous team has been hopping with the crew from Maya Road and today I'm sharing a little card I made with some fun goodies!

Sometimes all a card needs is a beautiful sentiment and some special touches. I used a sentiment from Thoughtful Wishes and cut it out with a Spellbinders die cut. Then, I added some cool tactile details like twill, burlap, a little heart-shaped chipboard from Maya Road's Heart and Hand Chipboard set, and a beautiful Maya pin.

And, of course, there are prizes!! Maya Road will have one grand prize you can win by commenting on their blog, liking them on Facebook, and commenting on their Facebook page. We’ll have three prizes for the week comprised of a Maya Road alterable book (I have two chipboard and one canvas), Some MR chipboard or other embellies, and Stampendous EJK08 White Encrusted Jewel Kit – perfect for covering chipboard with blingy goodness and Stampendous CRW092 Cling Artist Elements and SSC1122 Elegant Borders Perfectly Clear Stamp™ Set. Readers will have until Sunday night September 15th to comment on as many of our team blog posts as they can. Monday we’ll choose three bloggers at random from the week and each blogger will choose one winner from her comments. Winners must have a United States mailing address.

Here's the blog hop list!

September Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday

Today I get to showcase a project using the September Studio AE (Ali Edwards) stamp set! I thought I would try a layout since it's been a while...

I used some of my favourite products (Dylusions Ink Sprays, Crafter's Workshop stencil) and of course Ali's wonderful new stamps.

The "Love It" stamps were stamped in blue, then I doodled around them with a Pitt Pen and went over the letters with a white Pitt Pen to bring them out. They got a little lost with the blue sprays in the background...

"{heart} this photo" was stamped directly onto the photo with versamark and covered in white embossing powder. When I heated the powder the photo started to crack a little, but it was cool.. I just distressed all of the edges!

Here is the list of all the people sharing their projects today:

We’ll give away some prizes:
We are celebrating the third anniversary of Studio AE this month this month at Technique Tuesday! So guess what? We are going to give away three $25 gift certificates. To be eligible to win, all you need to do is comment during the hop!  The three lucky winners will be announced on the 15th on the Technique Tuesday blog.  http://techniquetuesday.typepad.com/

Stampendous Maya Road Collaboration

The Stampendous! design team got to play with some cool Maya Road goodies this week and I got really creative!! The base of my project was a Maya Road Canvas Album. I've never done a canvas album before, but after slapping some gesso on it, how different from my art journal could it be??!!

Step 1:
Mix gesso with ink or ink sprays. (I used Dylusions Sprays)

Step 2:
Paint gesso onto canvas album.

Step 3:
Decorate!!!

Once the gesso dried I stamped Cling Sewing Elements with brown Archival Ink in the background and drew my girl on top with a Stabilo pencil and Gelatos to add colour.
(The title was stamped with Vintage Lower Case stamps; stick pins by Maya Road; Prima trim and Kaisercraft flower)

Page 2:
This page was a lot of fun with the addition of stencils (Crafters Workshop). Once the stencilling was done I stamped Cling Classifieds in brown Archival ink onto the background. I used some chipboard pieces from Maya Road's Hand and Heart Chipboard set and painted them with silver DecoArt Metallic Lustre. This page was really just me putting a blob of pink in the centre, doodling around it, and sticking the chipboard down. So simple but I love it! lol...

Here's a third page:

That's all I did for now - but it was a lot of fun and such a cute little album to share with others...

Jumbo Leaves Tutorial

Hello stampers! I have another Stampendous! tutorial up today using some products from our friends at DecoArt and Cling Jumbo Leaves.

I chose to use some glassine paper from Ranger because it krinkles so nicely (as you'll see later).

I was thrilled to get my fingers messy in some Metallic Lustre from DecoArt. I scooped a little bit of each colour onto my craft sheet so I can mix the colours with my fingers.

Here I am applying the Metallic Lustre with my fingers to the glassine paper.

Once I was done applying the paint I stamped the jumbo leaves with black Archival Ink, then fussy-cut them out.

Then, crumple them up!

Unfurl the leaves and then they're ready to be applied to a project!
I decided to make a couple of tags - they will make great Thanksgiving gifts.

I thought they looked great all hap-hazard, kind of like falling leaves.

Thanks for joining me! Have a wonderful weekend.

New Annabelle Stamps Challenge!

The Annabelle stamps team is here with a new monthly challenge. We are changing our challenge to monthly to allow more people to play along, AND there's a bigger prize involved too! So this month's challenge is an inspiration challenge. This is so open to interpretation!  But I see lot's of paint splatter going on so I think that's where I'll be starting :)

I used stamps from one of our new sets called Splat Attack! I stamped on the chartreuse cardstock with cream ink in various positions. Once I stamped the sentiment on the yellow cardstock I crimped it from either end just up to the stamping. I love my old crimper!!

Deconstructed Sketch Farewell

Hi there! Today marks the last Deconstructed Sketch for me... Unfortunately life has gotten busy mostly because I decided to start doing more musical activities. Ever since I started teaching high school choir and band 7 years ago I haven't been involved in anything musical JUST FOR ME and its high time I start! I've joined an auditioned choir with a conductor I really admire, and I hoping to have an inspired year with him and the rest of the chorus.

Anyway... Here is my card for this week's sketch:

I decided to do a little "no-line colouring" with an image from the TSG set called Wrapped In Joy. All of the patterned papers and the chipboard flag/heart are from Simple Stories. I just LOVE the colours.

And wonder of wonders, I decorated the inside! It was a good place for the sentiment.

Sketch Guidelines:

Are you ready for Deconstructed Sketch 117? I hope you like it! Here’s the scoop on what you need to do:
1. Use the sketch up top to make a project, any kind you like using any image you like. Use the sketch to inspire your own creativity. Feel free to substitute shapes for what you have available and mount tags and circles to a card base if you’d prefer.
2. Post it somewhere on the internet (your blog, SCS, Flickr, etc). Use keyword DS117 if you post to an online gallery like Splitcoaststampers.
3. Link back here to Inlinkz at the bottom of the post so I can stop by and see it.
4. Be sure to hop over to our Facebook page throughout the week to see if your card is featured!

Thanks to all of my Deconstructed teammates... It's been a blast working with all of you!
