Annabelle Stamps: PanPastel Tutorial

Hi there! I have a little step-by-step tutorial up at the Annabelle Stamps blog today. I got to the point with my Dylusions Art Journal where it was FULL (ie: too thick to add any more stuff) so I bought a new one. That meant I had to decorate the inside cover of the journal and this was the perfect opportunity...

There are so many ways to apply PanPastels and using VersaMark as a bonding agent is a fun way to use the pastels with stamps.

So head over to the Annabelle Stamps Blog to see the tutorial. Have an awesome day!

Wrapped In Joy

I'm a little late, but finally had the time to make a card for this week's TSG (Again!) feature! I chose to play with the set called: Wrapped In Joy and it's a great mixture of images and sentiments perfect for gift-giving holidays - like Christmas!!

I used papers from Pink Paislee's Snow Village and got to colouring!
Copics used: Hair - YR21, 23, 24, 27. Skin: YR0000, 000, E11, 13, 93. Shirt: BG70, 72, 75, 78. Pants: E40, 41, 43. Reds: R21, 24, 27, 29 Green: YG91, 95, 97, 99

I added dots of glitter with a glitter pen and some Stardust Stickles on the ground. It's not a Christmas card without glitter, right?!?!

Stampendous and Scrapbook Adhesives Blog Hop

So, HOW AWESOME are these terrific adhesives from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L?!!! They are amazing! We have been very blessed to have the opportunity to use their  3D Foam Squares in-house on our store display boards and these things are TOUGH! They keep your card together, and the little liners peel so easily that it saves us loads of time! We love them!! There are two packages of these little treasures in the prize package…white and black!! oooh…luxury! Plus a gorgeous poinsettia that is so wonderful to raise up the petals on! You’ll have some serious fun, so visit all the blogs and comment!

For today's hop I made another holiday tag... Check it out:

I used Cling Oh Christmas tree and Cling Rare and Wonderful for this bright holiday tag. You may notice that the "Oh Christmas Tree" is missing from the tree stamp... I knew I wanted to use a different sentiment so I smudged some black Gelato over the area where the sentiment was and it disappeared! It's a handy little trick.

Once again I used those awesome black Foam Squares!

Now check out what the other designers today have made with the Scrapbook Adhesives and Stampendous products! Comment on all the blogs so you can be entered to win this fantastic prize package:

Fun With Adhesives

This week we’re playing with our friends at Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and we DEFINITELY got the better of this bargain!! I use a lot of the 3L products already, so this was a HUGE treat to get a bunch of swag from them!
So I don't know if you know this about me, but I simply cannot make a flat card. If there's layers of patterned paper or an image of any kind, I have to "pop it up." For a long time now I have loved that 3L makes BLACK foam squares... Genius, right? Black/dark projects should have dark adhesives and this is what today's post is alllllllllllllllllllll about.
1.    I started by stamping Cling Holiday Background in white ink on a black tag (I also used a glue pen and added some Black Micro Glitter):

2.    I found a cute sentiment in one of my paper packs and cut it out. On the back I added some black Foam Squares

3.   I then matted the sentiment on some kraft cardstock and added another round of black Foam Squares

4.    After all was said and done, this tag turned out pretty sweet. See what I mean about the black foam dots?! White ones would stick out horribly! ( I made something similar to this for a class I'm teaching at Clipper Street, but I love playing around with different ideas and techniques...)

Of course there will be PRIZES, (admit it, we know you only show up for the prizes!) and we’ve got some terrific ones! WE have three prize packages to give away and they contain some awesome stuff from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Stampendous! You’re going to want to make sure you do your commenting thing this week! We’ll choose three random bloggers at the end of the week and select randomly from the comments on their posts, so be sure to get to everyone!

October Greenhouse Society Stamp Set

So guess what I did today???
I hauled out all of my Christmas supplies!! It's very exciting for me to look through my precious collection and get to creating! This is my favourite CRAFTING time of year!

This month's Greenhouse Society stamp set says peace and quiet to me...

I coloured the background with NeoColor II crayons and blended them with a babywipe. I then stamped the evergreens in black and the sentiment on top with Versamark and white embossing powder. Again I'm making my own backgrounds and loving it!

Thanks for stopping by!

You Are Amazing

One of the easiest things to do with PanPastels is to create sunsets. Pounce the desired colours on to the surface, then blend! It's really that easy!! One hint: always "prep" your paper with either gesso, clear gesso, or acrylic ground for pastels... it makes a HUGE difference.

This is a new stamp set from Technique Tuesday called Appreciated and again, I just have to say how much I love silhouetted images. The possibilities are endless when it comes to the background and for all you mixed media aficionados this is a really cool set to play with.

So... For all of my Canadian readers: Happy Thanksgiving! And have a great weekend to all!

Birthday Greetings

Welcome to our Friday Feature and this week we are playing with the set Sentimental Bluebells!  I have used this set a bunch of times; the images are timeless and so easy to work with... Here's my card today:

I stamped the image on watercolour paper with Archival ink and coloured with Distress Markers. I love going around the edges of the image with Distress Markers - it's really easy to get that soft glow... Even easier if you have the Tim Holtz wide water pen. It's lots of fun!

So let's see what the Belles have created for us this week and because it's our Friday Feature stamp set it's been reduced by 20% for the next week, so get in quick before all stock goes!!

What's New? How Is The World Treating You?

Hi readers! I'm here with a couple of cards that I made while playing along with the current There She Goes Challenge! The colours are PUMPKIN, CHOCOLATE, and AQUA.

While I was making the first card I looked down at all the papers and thought, why not make a second one?? These were really easy and I love any excuse to use my stamp-set, Chalkboard Memories!! Just a little embossing and a little white pigment ink and these cards were done.

Thanks for stopping by!

Annabelle Stamps Sketch Challenge

Welcome to Annabelle's new monthly challenge!  This month we have a sketch to work with, nice and simple, not too hard, open to interpretation!  Make this sketch your own!  Me, I generally stick to what I see, my imagination doesn't work too well, but I'm always amazed at what others see from the same sketch!

I did a little fancy stamping with my new Annabelle Stamps and some Distress Markers! I coloured various blue and grey markers on the large background stamp from Scribble Scrabble 1 then took a deep breath and "huffed" some warm air on the stamp to re-energize the ink. Then stamped! The sentiment was a combo of some thought bubble stamps from Scribble Scrabble 2 and the sentiment from #1.

We have our new guidelines in place which you can find HERE, so be sure to have a browse of those if you are new to AnnaBelle Stamps Blog :)

The Top3 will now be picked by you!  All entries will now close 2 days prior to the next challenge going live and a reminder will be sent out for you to come by and vote for you favourites!  It just seems like a lot of fun, so we'll see how it goes :)
