It's Your Special Day - The Twinery Handmade Card

Hi there!!
I'm back in China and getting settled into the new school year.
I'm here today with a project for The Twinery and it's all about DOGS!!
I have two that are currently living with me and they are the light of my life - especially when I get home from work!! Needless to say I've got quite the little collection of dog-themed stamps going and this card uses one of my fav's:

I kept this card really neutral with a POP of colour to keep it on the masculine side. One thing I love about incorporating twine into my cards is it can help to tie-in those random colours in the project:

I only used red on the mallets and the dot on his t-shirt, but by using Maraschino twine it TIED it all together... (See what I did there... a little twinery pun for ya!!)

Thanks for popping in!!

Mama Elephant: Hope Your Day Rocks!

Hi there!
Today I'm playing along with the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Make For The Border!
I've used a set from Mama Elephant called Rock And Paws.

I used a really neutral colour palette because this card was for a guy (my Dad!) and I wanted to keep it nice and simple.

The "border" for the Border Challenge was cut with a Cricut.

The little dog was coloured with Copic Markers and to finish it all off I stamped a sentiment from the Technique Tuesday stamp set: Turn Up The Volume

Technique Tuesday: August Greenhouse Society

I'll tell yah, it sure is hard crafting and blogging "on the road."
The difficult thing about having a two-month vacation (well, there are a lot of things hard about it), is not being able to hunker down and get some "work" done. My family likes to go on road trips so we are literally on the road for much of the summer too, but it's also that go-go-go feeling when you're on vacation... There never seems to be that down-time I need to craft.

BUT... This past weekend before we left for our roadtrip to California I was able to make a couple of cards for people I'm meeting up with along the way, and this is one of them:

So as I mentioned, time was of the essence but that doesn't mean I didn't try to make it pretty!!
I stamped the image on watercolor paper, then very lightly coloured in the image with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers.

This is the new Greenhouse Society stamp set called:
Ritzy Mum by Technique Tuesday.
