Hi there! Can you believe it's almost August?
Being a teacher, I have the summer off and that means I fly home to Canada and get some much-needed hang-time in with friends and family, but I also get in some craft time. I bring a very small stash with me so I can make a little project here and there.
It's good for my mental health!!
The background is SO simple, so quick, and so cool! (I think....) I just used the round ink applicator (Ranger) to smoosh some circles of Distress oxide ink into kraft cardstock, and done!
Find this set (Lorenzo the Llama) here at Technique Tuesday!
I love to play with lots of different mediums and styles - it keeps this hobby of mine (which I have done for over 11 years now) fresh, new, and interesting.
Today I am sharing some tags made with extra paint from a painting project.
I have recently started experimenting with Acrylic Pouring and the paint that drips off the side of the canvas is just too gorgeous to throw away!!!
Here's my painting:
And here's the pool of paint that ran off the side. I simply dragged some tags through the paint and I had some lovely backgrounds ready to go!
Some simple, yet striking die cuts paired with a versatile SRM sticker sentiment was all it took to dress these tags up.
A friend asked me to make a card "for someone special" so with such an open-ended task, the world (or my craft collection) was my oyster.
I chose to work with the Sizzlits Die Set - Cacti.
I had to explain to my husband and son, but I'm hoping YOU get it.
YOU are special, just like the colourful cactus with the heart...
As opposed to the B&W cacti...
It was obvious to me, anyway! hahaha
Speaking of Sizzix... There's a really huge contest in right now! You have a couple more days to enter!
