This was, by 25 blog posts, my busiest blog year. I had 4-6 design teams that I served on and it was quite the chore for me to juggle everything while maintaining my super-busy teaching schedule - but I came out alive! lol...
I am looking forward to a more relaxed 2014 with only a few design teams on my plate and a lighter teaching load at my LSS. I am still quite busy with my music-teaching position and I only see myself getting
busier as time goes by. My choral program is building bigger and bigger every year
and it thrills me to no end to have all of my dear students involved!
In the tradition of many bloggers out there (and I've done it for 4 years now too), I am going to share MY favourite projects from 2013. I have gone through some creative changes this year and consider mixed media one of my forte's and one of my favourite ways to create cards. Copic is still up there, but I feel like I'm more versatile after this year...
So here we are:
January
The first of many mixed media canvases.
February
Kind of wiener-obsessed after adopting one of my own!
March

This year I really refined my shading-with-chalk-pencil technique. Love it!
April
![]() |
I designed my first stamp set this month! That was awesome.
May
This card is one of my most-pinned cards. So simple though!
June
Definitely got into Art Journalling this year. This page has been pinned almost 100 times!
July
I started designing for Annabelle Stamps. They're gorgeous!!
August
Another Annabelle Stamps card. I held on to this one!!
September
This is a cute little canvas book I painted. It was a lot of fun...
October
PanPastels came into my life and it's been great.
November
![]() | ||||
One of TSGs fastest selling stamp sets. So sad that TSG is gone now...
December

I gave this to my train-loving Dad. This was a fun card to make!
Just like last year I noticed my propensity for using black cardstock. I must vow to use more of my delicious Bazzill Cardshoppe this year!! But I love the addition of my new mixed media supplies - it's definitely influenced my style for the better.. (I think?!?!)
I'd LOVE it if you commented with a link to YOUR top cards of 2013! I just love looking at everyone's best projects at a glance. Head over to the Catered Crop and share your "Top 2013" creations for a chance to guest design with them! Take care, and Happy New Year!!
At Technique Tuesday we're sharing our new stamp sets AND sneak-peeking some of
our stamps for the CHA release... Fun times!
Here's my card. Can you guess how I did the background?
If you guessed Gelatos then you're correct! My favourite thing to do with them is create a "sunset" with delicious colours and stamp on top. After I stamped I added some shading with a "magic pencil" (Stabilo Black All-Surface Water Soluble Pencil) and a water pen. It's also how I "grounded" the image.
I used our new Fan-tastic stamp set to make my cards.
You can find Fan-tastic (and all the other stamps, steel dies and digital cut files from Technique Tuesday's 2014 Love Collection) here.
Day two of this month's There She Goes Blog Hop Challenges, and we have a full set of fun from artist Wendy Leach that features our favorite sock goblin, but lots of other winter accessories to go along with it! This whimsical and fun holiday set is sure to be a favorite.
I had a little fun with my Gelatos and stamped Wendy's cute images with some dark black ink (the NEW Memento Luxe) and it was done... I love cards that can be simple and beautiful. The art of "clean and simple..."

So, HOW AWESOME are these terrific adhesives from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L?!!! They are amazing! We have been very blessed to have the opportunity to use their 3D Foam Squares in-house on our store display boards and these things are TOUGH! They keep your card together, and the little liners peel so easily that it saves us loads of time! We love them!! There are two packages of these little treasures in the prize package…white and black!! oooh…luxury! Plus a gorgeous poinsettia that is so wonderful to raise up the petals on! You’ll have some serious fun, so visit all the blogs and comment!
For today's hop I made another holiday tag... Check it out:
I used Cling Oh Christmas tree and Cling Rare and Wonderful for this bright holiday tag. You may notice that the "Oh Christmas Tree" is missing from the tree stamp... I knew I wanted to use a different sentiment so I smudged some black Gelato over the area where the sentiment was and it disappeared! It's a handy little trick.
Once again I used those awesome black Foam Squares!
Now check out what the other designers today have made with the Scrapbook Adhesives and Stampendous products! Comment on all the blogs so you can be entered to win this fantastic prize package:
