It’s the time of year to give thanks to the important people in our lives. So this month, the Stamping Techs want to share with you some fabulous thank you cards.

I pulled out the adorable set Fruit Stand (now 35% off!!!) and made a card featuring the happy little strawberries. I stamped the berries with red pigment ink and stamped the tops separately and cut them out. I added glitter to the tops and to the dots on the berries with a glue pen and loose glitter. I don’t know what it is about strawberries, but they always say gingham to me.. Is that weird?? Anyway, I paired the image with some floral October Afternoon paper as well as gingham paper and ribbon to finish it off!

This week our challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week- Jenny! She has challenged us to make a card going Au Naturale!!! In other words, we want to see you use Jute, hemp, burlap, twine etc on your card. Since it’s Hallowe’en I thought I would incorporate the challenge into a spooky card that I made for Phoenix’s teacher…

To make this almost one layer card I sprayed the green patterned paper (it has a very subtle pattern…) with a few different green glimmer mists. One of the bottles was clogged so I ended up getting very mad at it and practically THREW the mist at the paper which worked out quite nicely in the end.. LOL! The big splatters are my favourite part. Once I was done misting I stamped the bats and sentiment from the Bugs and Hisses set and added the black twine and Spider Web die cut.

Kids love to countdown the days until Christmas is finally here and with this new set illustrated by Torico, you are going to have just as much fun creating a countdown advent calendar! With 25 different adorable holiday images and two sets of numbers the possibilities are endless! To make this set even more useable, there are two decorative circles and two decorative squares that were designed to be used with a 1 3/8” punch!!

I decided to cut out some of the cute little images and make some ornaments/tags with them. These came together really quickly once the colouring was done. (I used watercolour crayons and a water pen)

It’s day two of sneak peeks with the There She Goes design team and we have another fabulous set from Torico – she’s showing off her range of creativity. Whip us some delicious greetings with the new Bon Appetit set. From the succulent turkey to steamin’ hot pie create some mouth-watering table settings and pass down secret family recipes for generations to come. Compliments of Chef Torico!



Don’t ask me why I’ve been on a tag kick lately, but I can tell you that they’re really fun. I cut some white cardstock to a standard #8 tag size (approx. 3 1/8 x 6 1/4) and layered some of my most coveted patterned papers (October Afternoon) on top. I die cut a couple of Spellbinders shapes and adhered them with foam dots. Now.. Who should I invite over for dinner???

Bon Appétit is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 31 stamps and will sell for $18.

Welcome to There She Goes’ October new release sneak peeks!! The seasons are changing and it’s time to add some rich colors and beautiful leaves to our paper crafting projects! Autumn mini set has a bunch of different leaves each with a fun pattern that you are going to love to use!

I stamped the images onto kraft cardstock. They were then adhered to the tag with foam dots. The tags was a mish-mash of techniques, but mostly I just inked it up using a bunch of different distress inks and shook a little distress embossing powder in the one corner. I love these yummy fall colours together!

I started the tag off by tearing some post-its for masks and sponged the hills. Then I took the reverse of the post-its and masked off the hills so I could sponge the sky! Then I stamped the images (from the NEW Bugs and Hisses set from There She Goes) in dark black ink to complete the scene. After all the ink was dry I covered the whole scene with Versamark and covered it in UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) four times. I did it four times so the coating could get nice and thick so I could do this:



- crack it and make it look awesome!!

If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Hello there! Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days. I’ve been fighting with this new medication for my Fibromyalgia and instead of giving up on it (because of the nasty side-effects) I’ve decided to power through. I’m starting to feel normal-ish again, but more than the almost constant nausea, I’ve been TIRED! Ironic because the Fibromyalgia symptom I would most like to go away is the chronic fatigue, but like I said.. I’m going to power through and give this medication a try..

 

This weekend (long weekend here in Canada because of Thanksgiving) was a good time to catch up on sleep, but also have some no-stress crafting time. Gotta love that. I purchased the new Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die last week and I thought I would try out some different looks with it.

Turns out I did one look on three different tags, but what can I say? I liked how it turned out. I’ve never purchased the shaped nestabilities before because I didn’t have any spectacular ideas for them.. That’s all changed.

Here’s a close-up of the poinsettia. I cut all of the pieces from kraft cardstock then used Distress inks (Barn Door, Peeled Paint, and Vintage Photo) to colour the pieces. Then I covered them with Rock Candy Crackle Paint and let them dry (overnight). After it was dry I took the vintage photo and went over all of the pieces again to accentuate the cracks.

 

 

I used some new Technique Tuesday stamps that accompanied the grungy and clean tags perfectly: Celebrate the Seasons, and Believe. (Both by Ali Edwards)

What’s up with you?

What’s up with me? I’ve been playing around with alcohol inks, distress inks, and in general getting messy!! I’ve been experimenting with a lot of Tim Holtz products lately and having a blast. I love not knowing where a project will end up and I have never felt so proud of the final product as I do when it’s pure experimentation.

Here’s a tag that I’m going to teach in an upcoming class at Clipper Street:

This is one of my favourite colour palettes for Christmas, believe it or not. It’s warm and cozy like a cup of hot cocoa. I can’t say too much about the techniques right now, but I can tell you that the angel stamp is from Kaiser Craft, and the tag is from Echo park. The background was done with alcohol inks and if you haven’t tried them, DO IT! So much fun!!
