Nothing says feel better soon like a handmade card, and this set contains the perfect sentiments and images to say exactly what you need to say to brighten someone’s day! With sentiments for nurses, too, you will get TONS of use out of this SUPER adorable set!!


I used some of my MOST FAVOURITE PAPERS EVER on this card (My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found) and luckily made that seafoam green in her uniform look good!! The dotted wavy paper is actually American Crafts, but it matched the MME perfectly! I used this week’s Case Study challenge for the layout.. I LOVE it!!



The little nurse was cut out (have I told you before I actually LIKE fussy-cutting?? I like the look of it, and I enjoy playing with scissors.. lol) and popped her up onto a Spellbinders die cut. Here’s a list of the Copics I used:

WOW!!! It's been a busy week around here and we're so happy to see the sun!! It's a long weekend here in Canada so chances are that a few members of our team will be celebrating Canada Day in style. I am especially happy because SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!! Phew.. that was a tough year and I’m glad I can get a little R&R finally…

I used a bunch of BoBunny emphemera and chipboard accents I had kickin’ around. This was a great sketch to use the labels that came in the package! I stamped a little sentiment (Sweet Somethings by Technique Tuesday) and in my mind I thought this would be a great welcome to the neighbourhood type of card!

When drawing up last month’s Oh Crop set, there were just TOO many cute images and sayings for one set, so we HAD to split it into two. Poultry In Motion is the companion set to Oh Crop, and includes SEVERAL new sayings, and more ADORABLE images you are sure to love! From the farmer’s wife, to several more barn yard friends, you will LOVE what you can create when these two sets combine.



I used Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch for the layout! It was perfect for my rectangular image! All the papers are my precious October Afternoon “Farmhouse” paired with a couple of SEI accents.. I coloured her up with copics (and did a little airbrushing in the sky) and decided that there was no room for a sentiment. So I guess I had to do something on the inside…

Sniff…Sniff…..Can you smell what Melyssa has created for us this month?? It is SCENT-SATIONAL!!! Full of super cute sayings, and the most adorable skunks EVER, well, there really isn’t anything stinky about this set! Adorable AND punny…just how we like it!!

It's June 25th so the Technique Tuesday warehouse crew is ready to start shipping June's Greenhouse Society stamp set.

 

Here’s my artsy-fartsy distressed card:

I stamped on top of some Pink Paislee resist patterned paper. I had previously sprayed glimmer mists on it (the greenish-bluish colours you see in the BG) and had set the paper aside for a few months… Until the other day! The paper was initially very neutral and you could barely see the embossing on it, then BAM! With the sprays and the brown inking around the edges it just pops.. As you can see it even resisted the stamping I did, but that’s okay.. It turned out really distressed and rustic. I like it!

I love this set... I made this card for our TSG blog post celebrating some favourite sets! (check out the post here! Lots of eye-candy.)
Details: I stamped the background on plain yellow cardstock using one of the little honeycomb stamps. I wanted the pattern to feel random but still have a cohesive design - I achieved that by grouping the majority of the hexagons on the left 1/3rd of the card. (employing the rule of thirds...) The bees were watercoloured with Distress Markers on watercolour paper and enhanced with Stickles.. I love adding stickles to whimsical images, I need to do that more! The chipboard pieces are new to my stash, and they're from Bella Blvd.

Hi there! I’m here with my peeps from Technique Tuesday sharing some projects featuring one of their new stamp lines called Signed, Sealed, Delivered! This was a great kick in the butt for me to get my grad cards done and I LOVE them! Every year I have a year-end party with my Chamber Choir (my top auditioned choir with whom I spend A LOT of time!) and I give all of grads a little farewell/thank you speech and one of my “Tobi cards.” Actually… making the cards is the easy part, it’s what goes inside that’s hard!

 

So.. with the help of my little Cap and Gown seal stamp (only $2.99!!!) the cards are ready for me to write inside. (yikes…) Wish me luck! I don’t want to, but I think I may shed a tear or two as I write them – and more than that – say what I wrote to them IN PERSON… Head over to the TT Blog to check out our projects!!

Hi there! I had to work this weekend but I managed to squeeze in a few challenges the past couple of nights. If you don’t know, VSN is a couple of nights of challenges hosted at SCS. You are to complete the cards in 45 minutes or less and upload them when you’re done! I always work on Saturdays so I usually check out the challenges and play at my own pace.. Here are a few I’ve completed. I will play a couple more today!

 

1) this challenge was to pick a song by the band, Journey. I picked “Don’t Stop Believing.” I thought FOR SURE I would have a bunch of stamps with the believe theme – yah no! This was the only one! (from TSG Spread Your Wings) The flower is an Anna Wight design by Whipper Snapper and it was stamped and watercolored with Distress Markers and a waterbrush.

This challenge was to use a past trip or destination as inspiration for a card. (I thought of my family’s trip to Vancouver Island when we visited the butterfly gardens… Gorgeous!!) I had this stamp on my table already, (when you only have 45 minutes to make a card you use what you have!!) it’s also from Spread Your Wings, but this time I coloured it with Copics. The sentiment is an SRM Sticker.

This was a funny challenge… Take an old card – one of your first – and re-do it. I can’t believe I’m doing this, but here’s my old card (incidentally it was from a VSN in November of 2006!):

So I did the same technique (emboss resist for the background) but I think I am just able to compose cards a little better than I did (I hope so anyway… that was 6 years ago!!) and improve on the colour scheme, and the ribbon treatment, and the focal point.. Yah.. everything!

 

The focal point is a BasicGrey chipboard piece that I sprayed with adhesive and doused with clitter. The sentiment is from a little set of Birthday Sentiments that are letterpressed.. Very handy!

Take a look at this week’s iSpy guest: it's none other than Lori Boyd (3Bugs&Me @ SCS) and is based on this card.  A few of us have on the DT have had the opportunity to work with Lori on design teams and she's an absolute sweetheart with a heart of gold. This sketch was so easy once I had the image picked out, and that was easy too! How many rectangle images do YOU own? I have a bunch, so I just went with an oldie but a goodie.. Here’s today’s card:

I played along with this week’s Case Study Challenge #95. That’s two weeks in a row for me and there’s two reasons for it, 1) their design team and “muses” always have exceptionally beautiful cards for inspiration and 2) this week’s card uses a Memory Box die that I own and have had a hard time coming up with ways to use it! So here’s my creation:




I had a heck of time photographing this one.. All of those little cuts cast shadows onto the cardbase and it was a nightmare to get it too come out clearly! Anyway… My design came out mostly monochromatic except for that BasicGrey fabric brad.. I like the pop of colour! Thanks for looking!

Well happy hump-day to you! As I get closer to the end of the school-year the days seem to drag on!!! Anyone else feeling that too?? It's always nice to have some challenges to inspire you when you're feeling a little blah so I'm playing along with another challenge this week (my third one! ) and this time I'm playing with Embellish Magazine's Happy Colour challenge. here she is:

I got out my new Amy Tangerine 6x6 pad and found the heart paper that was a really close match.... SCORE! I hand-cut some banners and adhered them to the top of the paper by sewing them on... Then I didn't really like the sewing so I wrapped some twine around!





I stamped the second part of the sentiment on one of the banners vertically because that was really the only place to put it! :) (sentiment from the TSG set called Numbered Days) After everything was done I misted the whole card with "'Marshmallow" tattered angels mist..

So... Here's hoping the week picks up a little! I need it to be summer.... Soon!!

Hi there! This week's challenge at the TSG Blog is circles! Use a circle or circles anyway you like and you're done!






I started off by punching a bunch of circles from various patterned papers... They sat on my table for a bit while I stared at them... Then I got the idea to assemble them on the card front in this 3x3 pattern. I got a new Memory Box die and decided to break it in! Isn't it gorgeous? The sentiment (Everyday Greetings) was stamped on vellum and adhere with Helmar Scrap Dots (a dimensional liquid glue).

I had a glorious day off today and amongst sleeping in, I did a little organizing in my craft studio and eventually got to making something!






I played along with this week's Case Study challenge because it's been too long and I love Chupa's challenges! I pulled out some old Cosmo Cricket paper because my paper rack looks like this:







Do you have one of these? The sad thing is this is full of older paper that I don't use anymore! I got this rack because I thought it would be a good way to store my papers, but it ended up working against me. I am a really visual person and if my stash is out of sight - it really is out of mind... So I grabbed a line of Cosmo from the rack and I am going to make a bunch of projects with it!

Back to the card...








I used this beautiful Memory Box butterfly (I need to get a new die.. I know...) on top of a Tim Holtz rosette die on top of a My Favorite Things Fishtail banner die. I used some nummy new Bazzill Cardshoppe cardstock and because the paper was so substantial, when I rolled the wings around my finger it kept its shape!








I love that die!!!! Then I finished the card off with a few words for the Technique Tuesday stamp set called Perspectives by Ali Edwards. I stamped it in white then sprinkled some white embossing powder on top to make it pop.
