Hi there! Today I’m sharing a card made with the newest Greenhouse Society stamp set coloured with Watercolor Crayons.
Here’s a little step-by-step for you:
- I started out by laying down some colour. I had a few different hues of blue and green, but the “shading” wasn’t dramatic at all.
2. I added some more concentrated colour (WAY less water than with my first pass to get more POP)
3. I added “shading” with some dark brown watercolor crayons to give the flowers a more dimensional effect.

Today we have our second and final set from this month's release is another SUPER cute set illustrated by Torico: Giddy Up. Cowboys and western themes are all the rage right now, and we wanted IN on this super popular trend….and boy did Torico deliver!! Our new Giddy Up set is so fun, you’ll be roped in!
The colouring of this image took a WEE bit of time, and about 20+ markers, but it was fun! I used some colours I haven’t used very often (the reddish-brown colours are E04, 07 and 09) and I was excited to have some paper that matched! (Cosmo Cricket: Wanted).
The layout is this week’s DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH and it’s awesome. I never think of simple sketches like this and I should – it was a good way to use a bunch of different patterns on one card without being so busy! Head over to the Deconstructed Blog and check out the details!

Torico is at it again with her SUPER cute animals that we all LOVE and adore! This set has some of the CUTEST bear images, and the sentiments will bring a tear to your eye.

I coloured her with copics and did a little shading with my pastel chalk pencils. (White and black) All the papers are from My Mind’s Eye and I was hoarding them like crazy – but I’m glad I used them for this card. lol…

It’s reveal day for this month’s Greenhouse set from Technique Tuesday.
Isn’t it pretty? I stamped the image a few times on watercolour paper and embossed with white embossing powder. Then I misted with a few glimmer mists and dylusions ink sprays.
I love that it can be messy and free-form and come out looking so good! SO much easier than colouring with Copics, hahaha..
I stamped the sentiment on velum and wrapped the ends around the back to I didn’t have to deal with the whole adhesive/velum issue! Whatever’s easiest, right?

It’s time again for the There She Goes team to highlight some “vintage” stamp sets and I picked a stamp I had yet to ink. *gasp* It’s called Sweet Pea, and it’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen….
- Stamp image with versamark ink and emboss with white embossing powder onto watercolour paper
- Mist Dylusions Ink sprays onto paper
- Mist sprays with water to blend, and to create a pooling effect
- WITHOUT blotting, dry the mists. (this is what creates the watermarks)
Neat effect, right? By letting the inks pool they sit inside the embossing and the image pops out from the background!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
We don’t really do much around here besides little candy gifts and cards, but I think it will be a nice day!
It’s time for a new Deconstructed Sketch, and here’s today’s card:
- I just love this new set from There She Goes called The Doxie With Moxie, especially because I have a little wiener dog of my own now!! Since she’s been around we’ve made a lot of wiener jokes and this set warms my heart!
- So the little city-scape is part of the Doxie set so it was really easy to put together this little scene. The only tricky stamping was the “shadow effect” on the buildings – it’s super easy though. First, stamp the image in black, and second, stamp the image in grey ink and offset it slightly. DONE!

They are hard and have no flavour, but I love them so...

- I was having so much fun creating these cards with Valentine’s colours that I didn’t even notice it’s resemblance to graphics from my favourite show...
- I made these for today’s CAS challenge: Love Is In The Air, so naturally I pulled out my fluid acrylic inks and mists in pinks and reds because they are the colours of Valentine’s Day.
- I did the splatters first, dried the cardstock with my heat tool, then I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.. Really simple and fun!
This one is not so bloody..

Hi there. I’ve had quite the week trying to deal with my ulcer – it’s not been fun – but I’ve been really trying to get back to crafting as therapy and a time to relax… It’s tough sometimes with deadlines, but I love making cards and I have to remind myself that I’m fortunate to have an outlet I’m able to do (financially) and that I am good at. Some people don’t get to realize their talents and that is so sad to me.. Everyone’s good at something, right??
I have been looking forward to making a card with this week’s Deconstructed Sketch. I’m a sucker for banners, what can I say!!
I obviously did not do a circle card, but I kept the layout the same. I love this one!!

Good day to you! I got an email a little while ago from Susan of SRM Stickers asking if I would like to come back for a mini-term on the SRM DT. DUH! I have always been a fan of their stickers and now they carry some pretty cool packaging products... AND TWINE!

I was busy last week organizing and running a jazz night at my school, as well as finding out some upsetting news about my health (I have a bleeding ulcer) and I was waiting all week to sit down and paint with a good friend last night. Here's my latest mixed media canvas:
It went through a lot of different permutations (white, all-black, all green/gold) and after all my fussing I ended up with a background I absolutely love! One of my favourite elements are the hearts.
They were stamped with archival ink then I used black paint to add shading around the outside and it ended up with the colors emerging from below... So cool!
This quote is so perfect for my life right now... My ulcer is 100% stress-related and I really do need to uncomplicate my life, so doing art like this is extremely cathartic and necessary.
