Hello there! I am here with a colourful and cheery holiday card!
This was made using a few basics from around the ol' craft room:
Patterned Paper
Die Cuts (Tim Holtz by Sizzix)
Cardstock
Glitter Glue
I die cut the words from three different colours of cardstock and left some letters in, and let others fall out. I like that kind of haphazard look!
Pro tip:
If you want to use glitter paper as a background to your design, CUT OUT THE MIDDLE!! That glitter paper is precious, am I right? I used a pen-knife to cut out the middle and now I have another good-sized piece for the future!

Hi there, it's me again with some mixed media fun! Halloween is a great reason to get a little messy with your projects, and it's fun to let loose and experiment a little. I have been vowing for the past couple of weeks to make my craft table a paint zone (instead of a clean card zone) and this was a start!
I used a 3x3x3 Kraft box as my base. Before I assembled it, I did some stencilling, and misting and created a fun little background for the vampire (Sizzix Thinlits Die Set: Spooky).
(For all of the stencilling I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks)
Once all of the sides were decorated, I folded the box into place and added the sentiment and vampire!
Sentiment is Stickers By The Dozen: Halloween.

Have you seen the new release from Sizzix and Tim Holtz!! I was so excited to play with the new Halloween stuff, especially. There's nothing that takes away the back-to-school blues than getting ready for the second-best holiday (my favourite is Christmas..... DUH!).
The background was made with the Skull Damask embossing folder (link below). I embossed it, then drew on the raised parts with glue and pressed some black foil into it.
I cut the sentiment from some silver glitter cardstock for added BLING. Love it...
Supplies:
You may recall THIS POST where I used MFT's cloud stencil - well, I made a couple of backgrounds with no idea what I was going to do with them. I just knew I would use them sometime.
Creating a beautiful background by hand is kind of like using patterned paper - except it's better!! You can customize your colours, and then you can use it like you would any normal piece of PP.
I used Technique Tuesday's Classic Kite Steel Craft Die. Classic black on top of an ornate background is just what the doctor ordered. Everything is the star on this card!
Other items used: Look Out World clear stamp set.
A friend asked me to make a card "for someone special" so with such an open-ended task, the world (or my craft collection) was my oyster.
I chose to work with the Sizzlits Die Set - Cacti.
I had to explain to my husband and son, but I'm hoping YOU get it.
YOU are special, just like the colourful cactus with the heart...
As opposed to the B&W cacti...
It was obvious to me, anyway! hahaha
Speaking of Sizzix... There's a really huge contest in right now! You have a couple more days to enter!
Have you tried Distress Oxide inks yet? I haven't had a lot of time to play and one of the features I really wanted to try was stamping on black cardstock. This is stamped in various colours, then I splattered using the re-inkers, THEN, I lightly misted the whole piece so the colours oxidized a little... Beautiful!
The sentiment is a combo of an alphabet die, and the bottom half of a sentiment (that had "celebrate" on top) - I just wanted the sentiment wider and more prominent!
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies (Technique Tuesday)
Die: Hometown Lowercase
Happy Father's Day!
When I do masculine cards I try to keep it simple and not cutesy, and I think this fits the bill... This was an easy card to put together because all I did was die-cut all of the shapes in the Looking Dapper Thinlets Die Set - Sizzix.
Each little shape is popped up with tiny pop-dots
I paired it with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn to finish it off.

I just had a self-imposed long weekend (took a personal day) because I just finished a long run of the musical I directed at school and I was pooped!!! But after a couple good sleep-ins and some much needed "ME TIME" I am ready to tackle June!
This card is such an easy one to put together - would be a really great project for a card-set.
The combo of gold glitter and mint green is making my heart sing!
Have a wonderful week!

Hello people!!
I have had an exciting time shopping over here because my Chinese online suppliers finally got in Distress Oxide Inks, and I was SO EXCITED I bought them all!!!
After watching everyone play with these new inks I knew I wanted to make a cool background with them. The consensus is in: it's really easy to make cool backgrounds!! :)
Because they're pigmenty they stay wet longer, and it's much like working with watercolours. The ink moves and blends and that oxide-effect??? Swoon....
But the star of the card is definitely these pretty flowers. They were the inspiration for the colours and the focus of the whole design.
thanks for stopping by!!

Hi there! I'm sharing a cute card that is fun to construct, cute, and speaks to my scooter-riding soul!
Before I came to China I was no stranger to two-wheeled vehicles having had my first dirt-bike at the age of four (my parents were nuts!!!) but, I had never driven a bike/scooter on the road as my primary mode of transportation. There are days when it REALLY sucks (when it's below freezing and pouring rain or snowing) and days when it feels so good to have the sun on your face and the wind blowing through your hair...
Anyway, this die has my name written all over it!
This die would be fun to give to your kids! Putting it together was like a fun little puzzle, and the colour combinations are endless! Take a look on the Sizzix Website for a helpful video and other colour schemes!
Luckily, I had the most perfect sentiment ever in my stash of stamps (this one is from Stamping Bella) and a few cute scraps of patterned paper to make this die cut shine!
