Hi there! I hope you had a great Father's Day with your family.
Phoenix and I woke up early to go buy some of Ian's favourite things: a Coke Slurpee, mushrooms for an omelette, and a chocolate dessert. Then we hurried home and made a breakfast fit for a king. It was awesome! It ended up being a very lazy day around here and I got a lot of crafting done. It was great.

Here's the card I made for my dear ol' Dad:

I used set called "Dad's Tickets" that includes a bunch of sentiments and the SVG cut file. I cut the ticket-shaped card out with my Silhouette with Cosmo's Circa 1934 paper and added a couple cardstock stickers. I did a "print and cut" with the sentiment and sprayed a little Tattered Angels Mist on it to grunge it up a little.

On the inside I just cut out a simple rectangle for my message to my dad.. It went something like this:

Happy Father's Day Dad!

I hope you enjoyed your last Father's Day with your kids!

Love Tobi

(My parents are moving 2000 km away in a week.. I'm a little bitter... lol)

Now for the leftovers... This was the stash of leftovers I had to work with:

That polka-dot paper caught my eye right away and inspired the colour combo for this card:

The stamp is from Whimsie Doodles coloured with Copics. I airbrushed the clouds with Copic markers and the airbrush system. The paper... Oh the paper.. It's from My Mind's Eye (Life of the Party) and it's probably my favourite collection right now. The colours are awesome and I am inspired whenever I create with them.

Copics Used:

Reds: R20, 22, 24, 27, 59

Blue: BG10, 32, 34, 18

Green: G12, 14, 07

Mushroom: E40, 41, 43. 44

Brown: E53, 55, 57

And lastly, to answer a reader's question, this is how I store my Nestabilities:

I don't have a lot (I have a few more than this, but these are the ones I use most frequently) but this is how I keep them organized. This is a white board that I covered with magnetic paper - all purchased from Staples. It was not inexpensive (about $45 from beginning to end) but it works for me. I am a very visual crafter and I need to see what I have if I'm going to use it. If it's tucked away in a drawer (unless it's something like ink) I WILL NOT use it. This hangs on a wall right above my work space.

Leftover Sunday - Week 2

Hi there readers. I had a pitiful amount of scraps hangin' around on my table, but here's what I had to choose from for my second installment of Leftover Sunday:

I admit, some of these scraps are there from LAST week ( I will clean them up tonight, I promise) but most of these items are new.. Actually, I have no idea where the paper I used today came from, I don't remember pulling it out, but I used it because I love it.. I think it's Cosmo Cricket.. It's really old (like 3-4 years old) but the colour scheme gets me every time.

So I used another clipboard, the vellum, and the yummy patterned paper to make this cute little decorative clipboard. I used a lovely but neglected stamp set from Technique Tuesday: Petite Posies. (it's one of the little $2.99 sets!) I stamped the posies in StazOn ink and coloured on the REVERSE with Copics to add a hint of colour. It works wonderfully!

New Feature: Leftover Sunday #1

I have a habit of keeping patterned papers, embellishments and coordinating cardstock on my craft table for about a week in case I want to make some more projects with it. I like doing this because all of the colour-matching and embellishment choosing has already been done and I can just colour and go! What happens at the end of the week (Saturday/Sunday) is I either put the scraps in my scrap bin (never to be seen again) and I recycle the little bits. My embellishments, die cuts, and pre-printed digi stamps go into their homes and everything is tidy again, ready for a new week.

Well I was thinking... Why don't I make a few more things with the leftovers sitting on my desk?

Here's my first serving of Leftover Sunday:

These die cuts were part of an experiment with my Silhouette. I downloaded these American Crafts designs last week and I always have a hard time with the print-and-cut function. It's actually quite neat when it works, and it worked this time! You print the shapes out on the printer then the Silhouette recognizes some marks and cuts out around the shapes. So... they were just laying around on the pile. I paired the shapes with SRM sticker sentiments and suddenly, 3 cards were born!

I don't know how you guys that play with digi stamps do it, but I print out a bunch of images at a time, that way there's always something ready to go and I don't have to fiddle with my computer. I've had this little gnome on my table for a while now so I finally decided to give him a home.
