I have a lotta scraps on my table. It's starting to be a pile, really, so it was time for me to root through them and make some cards! I placed with my Slice to create the words and the labels. I used the Falala cartridge for all of the Slice cuts. Here's card #1:

I had a piece of kraft CS stamped with the woodgrain stamp (Hero Arts) and white ink. I know woodgrain and kraft aren't your traditional Christmas colours, but I thought it would funky! The paper in the background was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and I rubbed white ink over the raised spots.

Here's another scrap of the woodgrain that I cut out with a label shape. Joy was inked around the edges. Ribbon is from Papertrey Ink and it's delicious!!

This is my favourite. I used the reverse of the cut-out and saved the pieces from the word to fill in the gap. How much easier can you get design-wise, but I'm just loving this one!!

There's nothing like stamping to get rid of the post-sickness funk. H1N1 seems to be a lingering bug, and although I'm not contagious anymore and am back at work. I still feel tired and not quite myself. It was nice, though, to have some purpose this evening when I set out to do this week's Jacksonbelle Challenge:

Krystie Lee has been making some really cute one layer cards with a rectangle stamp as the "background" and I've been loving the look. I don't have a rectangle stamp (WHY DON'T I HAVE A RECTANGLE STAMP????????) so I used post-its to block off an area to sponge my colour into.. I love how it turned out.


I used some old Buckaroo Blue paper from SU! and a new-to-me set called Pocket Silhouettes (also SU!). The sentiment is Whipper Snapper and the butterfly (my favourite part) is Amy Butler.

I have H1N1 (or just plain SWINE as we call it around here) and it's not fun, but it's not the worst I've felt either. I was afraid I'd die or something, and to my pleasant surprise it feels like the flu!! (it's not pleasant but you know what I mean....) But hopefully I will have some energy to craft tomorrow as I've been forced to take some time off from school. (I miss you guys!!!!)

So keep safe! Wash your hands! And don't jinx yourself by saying "I won't get swine!"

This week at JB we're featuring Inkadinkado and Martha Punches, and they are priced to clear!!! so I used some under-loved Inkadinkado stamps on this baby!

So I stole away for a few minutes this evening to make another card. I think I'm pretty much going to make Christmas cards from now on because I have so many places and people that I need to provide cards for. It's a good problem to have, but when you're too busy to sleep, not too much fun.

This layout was quick and easy, especially because I used punches to cut out the squares. After I cut out the squares I laid them on white cardstock, measured an 1/8 of an inch on all sides and cut the white. The finished card is 4x6. I hope you like it! I used Basic Grey patterned paper, and May Arts ribbon.

Yikes! Who likes using vellum? Not me! I just don't know what to do with it. So.. I did what I know best: Copic markers. lol! I stamped on one side with Staz-on ink, and coloured the reverse side with the markers (Staz-on and Copics don't mix). I then strategically cut out the image and border with Nestabilities dies, and dreamt up a layout. How do you like?

 So if you didn't know, I like to cook. I like it alot. When I watch TV I watch the Food Network, and that's it besides Friends episodes! I love experimenting with ingredients, and building up my repertoire of cooking techniques and styles. I recently decided that I would not be spending Thanksgiving with my family, but instead would host dinner at my house and invite my in-laws. It was a big undertaking for me because I've never cooked a turkey! Was I out of my mind??? YES! But it's all good. Here are some photos of the day:






I ordered a canvas from Photo-canvas a week ago and I was so impressed with the service I just had to tell you in a blog post!!
The company is in England, and don't let the prices scare you. I compared the prices, and including shipping, they're CHEAPER! Wow, right? I got a 16x20 canvas, and on their website including shipping it would be 75 pounds, which works out to $122. Well I looked up a Canadian website that provides the same service, and they sell them for $123 + $25 shipping. Here's the best part: it shipped in 2 days! Well, actually, that's not the best part, the best part is that Ian and I got this amazing canvas and we will enjoy it daily for the rest of our lives. I am so grateful! Thank you Photo-Canvas!!


So thankyou for letting me share my first Thanksgiving and I hope all of you Canadians out there had a special day like we did!! And to all of you Americans: good luck with your turkeys! Now I understand why the day is so stressful for the cooks!! It's great to see everyone chow down though, isn't it??
