Sketch Guidelines:
Are you ready for Deconstructed Sketch 99? I hope you like it! Here’s the scoop on what you need to do:1. Use the sketch up top to make a project, any kind you like using any image you like. Use the sketch to inspire your own creativity. Feel free to substitute shapes for what you have available and mount tags and circles to a card base if you’d prefer.
2. Post it somewhere on the internet (your blog, SCS, Flickr, etc). Use keyword DS99 if you post to an online gallery likeSplitcoaststampers.
4. Check back here next week to see if you are one of this week’s favorites and grab a badge for your blog.
April’s Greenhouse Society stamp set ships today and we are featuring another round of creations!
Today I decided to use the chalkboard technique to feature the pretty tulips. Here it is:
I had some beautiful My Mind’s Eye scraps in my bin and I thought they would look good with the black chalkboard… It’s an interesting look, that’s for sure!
( I do the chalkboard look by stamping in Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder… I then rub white ink on the paper with my fingers… pretty easy!)

Stamp set number two!! The newest addition to Megan’s Spice Girls line is the GORGEOUS new Ginger set.
Isn’t she pretty?? I paired her with some soft My Mind’s Eye papers and that gorgeous ribbon that looks a lot like denim! (The layout is this week’s TSG sketch challenge… Check it out!)
It was lots of fun colouring all of his lumpy muscles, I tell ya! Once I coloured him with Copic markers I added some shading with a black pastel chalk pencil.
I have entered in assignments for the teams that have specific due-dates and deadlines, and every design team has a different colour. Visually, I can then see when I have a busy week and who I am busy with!! At the bottom I will add assignments from teams that are on-going!

Ten years of Technique Tuesday means a year-long party!
And to celebrate the anniversary, we are bringing back some of our popular products from the past throughout 2013. (So far, we've brought back Adored by Ali Edwards, Hash Tags & More, and Petal Power.)
And we are happy to share with you the latest addition (or re-introduction) to our line-up: Irony. We have featured a bunch of projects on the Technique Tuesday blog too!
I used the Irony stamp set on this fun art journal page:
I’ve been having fun with paint… Can you tell?
My parents got me a gift certificate for the local art supply store and I took the opportunity to pick up some paints that I enjoy working with in my art journal and on my mixed media canvases.
They are:
Lumiere by Jacquard
All of the aforementioned paint can be applied in various ways (paint brush, dropper, fingers if you’re daring) but my favourite method for the inks is to dropper them onto the canvas and mist them with a little water to let them run down the paper. It’s fun and you never know what you’re going to end up with!
For now (until I grow out of it) I have all of my specialty paints, as I call them, in a small/medium-sized art bin.
That’s all for now! I’m off to do a little birthday shopping!! Take care!
I made the layouts quite simple by using bright cardstock and some coordinating patterned papers (Echo Park) from a 6x6 paper pad. I added a little bit of washi tape here-and-there as well as some cute chipboard elements.
Hi there! Last weekend I hung out with some good friends and we laughed a lot, and crafted a little.. Isn't that always the way? Everytime I go to a crop I bring buckets of stuff because I am going to be SO busy and productive and I have to bring it all because I don't know what I will or won't need.
Well let's just say that in a total of 17 hours I got 5 cards and 2 layouts done.. hahaha
I used to beat myself up about it, but I look at it as a chance to get out and spend time with like-minded friends and have a few much-needed belly laughs! If I get some cards done, then good on me!
Here are two cards that I made for today's There She Goes (Again!) feature at the TSG blog. We are featuring some oldie-but-goody stamp sets and I couldn't stop at just one.
This card uses stamps from Lighten Up:
I love the graphic look of this card. The BasicGrey papers add a really nice punch of colour.
The illustrations are beautiful and so nice to colour.
Oh hey... Today's my birthday! The big 3-6. It's nothing monumental or anything, it just sounds weird to say out loud. I am 36. Weird... Anyway! I am going out tonight with family and friends and I hope to have tonnes of fun!
Have a great weekend!
Say hello to the newest stamp set from the Greenhouse Society collection. This clear stamp set consists of four clear stamps on a 3" x 4" storage sheet.
Here’s my card:
Coloured with Copics and paired with some farm-like papers from Simple Stories. I love the bright colours!
It starts shipping on April 25th to Greenhouse Society members.
Not a Greenhouse Society member yet? You are in luck! This set is on sale for a limited time to non-members for $12.99 (plus shipping and handling). Watch for it to go on sale later on the Technique Tuesday Web site.

I have a silhouette, so I was delighted to test out these babies!! I love having the look of fussy-cutting without fussy-cutting, am I right?
Head to Technique Tuesday to check out the dies available!

- I covered the 8.5x11 canvas with vintage dictionary paper and added some yellow orange paint on top. The blue paint splatters were done with a metallic paint by Lumiere (and the splatters are actually a stencil. Random but not!). Once the paint dried I stamped the images (Jumbo Calla Lilly) with Black Archival Ink.
2. Paint in the image with watered-down acrylic paints. FYI, I watered down the paints so I could still see the stamped lines.
3. Once the paint has dried, draw over the stamped lines with a black pen.
4. Cover the images with the masks. (Included FREE with the Jumbo Cling stamps!)
5. Using a sponge, go around the outside of the mask. This will add a shadow to the images.
