They sent me the cutest little stamps to play with and this is what I came up with:
The bubble background was stamped in Versamark on the kraft cardstock. Isn't it so striking? I love versamark on kraft... The piggies were stamped in Brilliance and coloured with Koh-I-Noor pencils and Gamsol. Papers by: Papertrey Ink, Bazzill, Stampin' Up (and dot is unknown.. it was a scrap..).
The ladybugs were stamped in Momento (Tuxedo Black) and coloured in with Copic markers. I added some black bling to some of the dots with Kaiser jewels and white cheeks with a gel pen. Papers: Papertrey ink, felt ribbon by American Crafts.
I stamped the sentiment first, then decided to add the ladybug stamp in the background. I stamped it in black, stamped it off once (stamped it on a scrap) then stamped it in Versamark. I coloured in very subtle red highlights with copic markers.
Papers by: Stampin' Up (kraft), and all others by Papertrey Ink.

I searched for a layout that is clean and simple, that would work well with a sympathy mood, and is easily replicatable. I found one, and do you think I bookmarked who made cards like this? No... Why? Because I'm stupid.. but if I copied YOU, please let me know..
Anyway. I used two brand-spankin' new stamps from Amuse to make the backgrounds. I experimented by using two white inks by Palette (Fresh Snow and New Canvas) because using pigment ink with both of the images made the ink spread a little, so I thought I would try the New Canvas. It wasn't as saturated, but it didn't pool as badly.. I will keep experimenting because I really like how these cards turned out.

And this card happened because I had a bunch of extra butterflies lying around as a result from playing with the Stampin' Up Sizzix die in my Cuttlebug.

I love using parts of an image to make it something unique! I used the stamp called "Teddy Antics" found here, and this is the card I came up with:
I was thinking of a beany baby when I coloured this little guy. It's a sweet little card that will be perfect for a little boy's birthday, or some sort of happy occasion!! haha.. Enjoy!

OK this card turned out awesome-ly. I used today's inspiration challenge at SCS as my muse, and I'm so glad I did. The match box to the left is the piece I chose, and isn't it gorgeous? Makes me want to by some matches.. for some reason... It is from Skeem if you want to check out similar products. It's a candle shop!

Yay. I love sneak peeks. I don't know why but it's so exciting to use a stamp no one else has seen yet! Over the next few days you are going to see some CUTE stamps. Get out those copic markers because this release is full of images begging to be coloured.
This girl is 07-019 Ballerina teddy and will be available on Monday at the Elzybells store. I coloured her with Copic markers and used the airbrush system to add a subtle pink background and masked the edges with a Nestabilities die. If you want to see a step-by-step tutorial on how to airbrush with Nestabilities, let me know. It's really easy, and there are probably a tonne of tutorials out there, but just let me know if you want to see one from me!!
This is on a Hero Arts clear base. I stamped a little Papertrey Ink Polka Dot Basics to add a little texture. I don't like leaving a clear card bare. Hope you like it!

The Salish nation is in the Pacific Northwest. I am not usually a fan of native art, but this stamp is da bomb! haha.. Seriously though. I really like it, and am glad I bought it. haha..
I used the sketch from SCS for the layout, and the papers were all scraps. Love it when I can make a whole card from scraps. I'm so eco friendly. haha..

In fact. When deciding to go on this quest to make cupcake lollipops like Bakarella I had to contemplate buying a mixer, cake pans, vegetable oil along with all of the other specialty ingredients I needed to purchase. Here's what happened:
Some of the sheep have some interesting hair-do's! And some of the sheep are just plain obese!!! And then some of the sheep aren't sheep at all.
Those white ball thingies on the first sheep are REALLY HARD, so I thought I would make some sheep without the balls, and then just some random lollipops that are easy on the teeth..
I would highly recommend making them. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good, and yet, SOOOOOOOOOOO bad....

It was Spring Break a couple of weeks ago and we went to Historic Fort Langley, just like we did last year, went to the hat shop, just like we did last year, and took a picture there, just like we did last year.
I am trying to do more layouts, it just seems I always have deadlines with cardmaking that I have to fulfill. I used a "lollipop" that I made a couple weeks ago, and the colours were based around it.

It was a big year for us. Since that picture we got engaged, bought a townhouse, I got my full-time teaching position, we planned our wedding, I found out I have gall stones and need a surgery, Ian had a special surgery that will ensure we don't have more children... hehe.. Too much info maybe, but it's been an exciting year!!
Oh yah.. We also got a new baby:

I *love* Starbucks.. I think I've mentioned that before.. So it's hard not to use Starbucks colors when I'm using this coffee cup image. I coloured it using Koh-I-Noor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. The embellishment called "flair" is from American crafts and it inspired the colour combination.

I used a wildly unpopular stamp by Stampin' Up called Park Ave Patterns for the background of the card. It's kind of bird-cage-ish so I thought it worked well...
It's funny.. I seem to choose these stamps that no one else likes and then because I have no inspiration, I don't use them as much... I like using background stamps more and more though, so maybe this one will become part of my arsenal. Who knows...
