Hello! In my quest to embrace the colour purple, I have designed a card that celebrates its beauty..
These papers are older, but they were so gorgeous that I brought them to China - so I figured I better use them. ;) I played along with this week's Sweet Sunday sketch:
I love a sketch that gives me a reason to use all my papers - otherwise I just hoard them... Lol...
I coloured the stamp with watercolours and when I was done I added some realistic shadow with a little bit of chalk pencil and a blending stump. I did my best to try and capture some realism. Then, to add some whimsy I added a little bit of clear Wink-of-Stella..
Thanks for stopping by on this lovely spring day! This was the first day that I rode into town (on my scooter) without a winter jacket!!
You don't know how much that excites me, haha..

It's Friday night here in China and for me that means a short school day (we're a boarding school so the kids get to go home by bus around noon) and I get to enjoy a nice afternoon nap followed by crafting at night!
Today I decided to ink up some new MFT goodies and tackle a couple of challenges.
I've been feeling like I've neglected my Copics lately, so my only "rules" for this card was to use them... But I had help, first, The Color Throwdown Challenge #334:
Interesting colours, right?
Second, I used the current sketch from MFT Challenges:
There was nowhere on the front of the card that I wanted to put the sentiment, so I stamped the girl on the inside with Memento Toffee Crunch ink.
I was also able to find someone who sold Wink Of Stellas here in China (I left ALL OF MINE AT HOME!!!) so I've been adding a touch of glitter to my projects lately:

Stamps from the A Reason to Party stamp set
Combining my love of mixed media with my love of cardmaking makes my soul sing.
This card started out with some quick stencilling of paint onto book paper and I ended up with this:
I used the Straight Talk Love You die from Technique Tuesday for the sentiment. Arranging layers on an angle is something that I am keen to incorporate into my designs so I cut the vellum and lined up the sentiment and gold border along the bottom.
I thought I would join the fun at Simon Says Monday Challenge which is the letter "B." Book paper is my letter B!

Well it's almost over... My three-week holiday is coming to a close and I am ready to get back to work, but first, just a little more time to play. I have been wanting to try the new MFT challenges since they've started and today I broke out my new MFT goodies and got creating!
As soon as I saw the fluttering hearts die I knew I wanted it. There are so many ways to use it and because I got a new set of watercolors yesterday I decided to do an ombré wash of purples and pinks.
Here's the sketch and I turned it clockwise to accommodate the panel. For the bottom portion of the sketch I added some BoBunny glitter paste:
I love how it dries... Just the bright, clear sparkle!

It's MARCH??!! What the heck??!! This year is off to a great start and I can't believe that we've only got 4 months of school left. Crazy.. But to celebrate March the Naughty or Nice crew and I are celebrating with a new challenge:
I was actually in Ireland, and in Dublin last year for the St. Patrick's day parade and it was everything you would think, and more... Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE, locals, tourists... It didn't matter) wears silly green paraphernalia and it was so fun to be a part of. Here's a picture from the parade, a sea of green...

So I thought to myself, what's green? Frogs! I have no frog stamps... Leprechauns! I don't have those either... GRASS! Well, yes, I have a grass die, and a snarky sentiment to go along with it, so why not?!
The stamps are from There She Goes (retired) so I am sorry, but this sentiment cracks me up every time I use it. I picture giving this to someone like my BFF or my brother. They would get it.
I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir markers. If you don't know, they are somewhat like Copic markers, but every brand of alcohol markers behaves differently and you just have to get used to them. The thing I find hard about the Spectrum pens is I don't know the colours like I know Copic colours, but I'm trying! The skin combo I used, for example, is TN4, TN3, GB2, and TN1... Skin colours are something I've been fiddling with and I finally found something I like!
So head over to the
to check out the inspiration and details of the challenge!
