I had a thought that this might work and I’m glad I did. The only *wish* I have for this card is the third cloud on the left be visible. hahaha.. yes.. there is a VERY faint third cloud on the left. I know my rule of threes, ok?? I used a cute little set from Technique Tuesday called Happyville – Sunshine and there are lots of little elements in the set that you can play around with. I love sets like that!

It is once again time to feature a new set from Technique Tuesday’s Greenhouse Society line of stamps. I had a lot of fun playing around with the chalkboard technique with the stamps. Here’s my card:

 

I wanted to try some big, bold colours with the stark black and white and I just LOVE how it turned out! You should give it a try!

So I went overboard with the circles.. Whatev. In hindsight I should have used the cloud die-cuts I was thinking about using, but I really love how the circles turned out. I did a whole bunch of levels using different brands of pop-dots:

Image coloured with Copics and charcoal pencil and papers are some Pink Paislee from a few years ago. Man, I love this line…

It’s no secret, we are DEFINITELY in love with everything Torico does here are There She Goes, and we know you are, too. This month she has honored us by creating a set that we have been begging for…meet The Doxie with Moxie!! SUPER cute dachshunds, along with several sentiments, outfits, and even a city scene for our more “elegant” pups, this set is just TOO much fun.

I especially love this set because I just got a weenie pup of my own (her nickname is weenie…) and I just can’t wait to use all of the funny sentiments and outfits to dress up my doxies like I do my own!!

Since I’m in Valentines-mode I picked this happy weiner couple and coloured them the colour of my pup. Aren’t they precious? I used the current Deconstructed Sketch for the layout – it’s a cute one! New BasicGrey papers make this card extra-delish and just a touch of twine!!

The Doxie with Moxie is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 32 stamps and will sell for $18.00. There’s also an accompanying set with some crazy sentiments: Size Matters is a 3x4 set that includes 7 stamps for $9.00.

Have you played around with the “chalkboard” look yet? I’m kinda really loving the trend and am looking at my stamps with a different eye lately.. For this card I used a brand-spankin’-new Technique Tuesday set called Puffy Hearts. The hearts were stamped on charcoal cardstock and the sentiment on black – just to switch it up a little! Once I embossed everything I sponged a little bit of white ink on the cardstock to make it “chalky…” So fun. I used the Deconstructed Sketch #83 for the layout (although I had to switch it up a little – I don’t have any oval Nesties!!!) and I think it works… ha!

A quick card before bed! I played along with this week's CAS challenge at Splitcoast - it's a colour challenge! I cut out the various cardstocks with the Chevron die from My Favorite Things and adhered them to a scrap of 4x4 cardstock. I adhered an SRM Sticker (Sticker Sentiments - Birthday) to a piece of white cardstock and doodled a talk bubble around it - then cut it out. A little twine from The Twinery and that's it!

It’s an exciting time for us crafters… We’re nearing the big winter tradeshow – aka CHA, and I am pretty excited about some of the new products the companies are sharing with us. I’ve been doing a little behind-the-scenes work with a few of the stamp companies I work for and today I get to share a couple of new designs from Technique Tuesday!!

The stamps are available for order now (shipping soon)!

Ali Edwards has designed a whole bunch of new stamps with her characteristic handwritten style and they are just awesome for creating “CAS” or clean and simple designs. This card was made with stamps from Hello by Ali Edwards.

Another CAS card with a new stamp set by Teri Anderson called Pucker Up and Live Laugh Love. I stamped with Versamark then used red embossing powder for the lips and white for the sentiment.

 

The center of the die cut is a stamp called I Love You Seal. The elaborate die cut is by Spellbinders and the circle in the center is a perfect fit!

And lastly a card with a bunch of inks sponged over top of a new stamp set called In This House. Again, I used embossing powders (why am I so addicted lately??) to make the images POP against the inked background.

Up until a week ago our family consisted of: Me, my husband Ian, our son Phoenix, our cat Whiskers and our dog Kitara. We were happy, our hearts were full, the animals thrived but I suppose something was missing (little did I know). I love visiting my friend Jessica for so many reasons (we laugh/cry/make cards/bitch about husbands, lol) but another reason I love her house is her preference for weiner…

DOGS!! Dachshunds, to be more specific! I didn’t know how much I loved those little wiener dogs until I was around Jess’s dogs for a weekend. Her one dog, Otis, stole my heart and I became “known” in our little There She Goes family as a wiener-lover. Ahhh… So be it… Harmless fun until Meredith (who does a lot of behind-the-scenes work at TSG) started to send me links to dog rescues with Dachshunds. Well isn’t that perfect!! I talked it over with hubby and we decided that we had room in our hearts/house for a dog that needs a leg-up..

Enter Best Friends Animal Society. One look at the “Chiweenie” named Cabernet and I was a goner.


If you don’t know Best Friends, they’re an amazing organization. They have rescued every kind of animal imaginable and take good care of them until someone takes them to their “forever home.” They are based in Utah, but they will fly your pet to you and all you have to pay for is the charge for the cargo. We picked her up a week ago and she is settling in wonderfully!



So yes, she’s a Chiweenie, which is a Chihuahua/Dachshund cross. I had all kinds of nightmares before picking her up that she would be more CHI than WEENIE, but she has a very lovely temperament. She’s up-beat like a puppy should be, but she’s not yappy, or mean, or aggressive, she’s just a sweet little girl!

Hello! It’s the beginning of the month so that means a new monthly challenge at the Stampendous! Blog, and this month is super easy for me, it’s KIDDOS! Stampendous’ Kiddos Collection of adorable children has really grown in 2012 and there are new additions to the family in store for 2013. These little kids are so cute and are doing those things kiddos all over the world love to do. They’re perfect for children’s birthday cards, party invites, scrapbook pages, and even a whole class full of Valentines! 


I absolutely LOVE colouring kiddos and I loved this card so much that I will be teaching it as part of a Copic class at Clipper Street very soon!!

Last night I spent a quiet evening “in” and I made a few cards.. This one was a quick attempt at the “faux chalkboard technique”. I really like the look and I have a few other stamp sets that would look really good using this technique.
