It's the big day! I love blog hops with Stampendous! because the partnering companies are always so generous and it seems (from your comments) that a lot of you want to delve into mixed media but don't have the tools yet... Wouldn't it be nice to win some swag???
Faber-Castell was extremely generous to our Design Team sending us tons of products from their Design Memory Craft range. Many stampers and scrapbookers will be familiar with Gelatos and other products from this fine company. These products are at the forefront of the Mixed Media movement in scrapbooking, stamping and home decor, a perfect kick off for Mixed Media March – our Monthly Blog Challenge. We hope you’ll enjoy the terrific inspiration we’ve got for you this week!
Yesterday I showed you the cover of my Travel Journal: Ireland (and yes I am totally excited to be going back. I went two years ago and I'm excited to return!) and today I'm sharing one of the interior pages.
I started by adding a light layer of gesso over one of the plain kraft pages.
Then I chose some black and grey Gelatos and scribbled them ombrè style up the page. Then I used a baby wipe to blend.
I couldn't wait to use the CRS7002 Cling Jumbo Dress Form stamp set, so I pulled it out. I stamped one of the backgrounds on the right side in black Archival ink. Once the dress form was stamped on the gesso'd background I felt it needed some love....
I pulled out my Big Brush Pitt Pen again, this time in Warn Grey and added some shading. They blend really well on gesso - all you need to do is smudge the line with your finger while the ink is still wet and you get that pretty shadow effect!
Now it's ready to be journalled on and I am thrilled!
Head over to the Stampendous! Blog for the whole hop list. Good luck and thanks for leaving me love!!
