Here we are on our first day of There She Goes blog hop challenges for June!! We have four days of peeks for you

Torico has designed a set that will be useful to card makers, scrapbookers, and multi-media artists alike. This is my life helps you tell your story, your way. Super cute images, fonts, and the number of sentiments and their possibilities are endless.

I love this sentiment because it can be used for a multitude of occasions... Handy, right? I used a bunch of Crate Paper "ephemera" (the banners were pre-sewn.. lucky me!) and this CAS card came out pretty quickly!

This is My Life is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 21 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

Would you like to win the new This Is My Life stamp set? Here is what you need to do-visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.

June Greenhouse Take Two

This is the newest stamp set from the Greenhouse Society collection. The Bouquet - Greenhouse Society clear stamp set consists of six clear stamps on a 3" x 4" storage sheet.

The how to: I first stamped and embossed the image and sentiment with white embossing powder, then I had some fun misting the watercolour cardstock with ink sprays. Couldn't be more easy... If not a little messy! lol... The trick to getting the water-stained look is to leave pools of ink on the cardstock instead of mopping it up - that way when it dries (or when you hit it with a heat tool) the ink dries nice and dark in spots.

Today we're featuring some classic TSG sets on the TSG Blog and I chose to feature Flava Sava. My dad has always had a moustache, so for me daddys and moustaches go hand-in-hand. He wasn't around on Father's Day, so I'm going to give this to him the next time I see him!

Glass Etching Part II

The Stampendous! team is etching it this week with Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream and today is the big blog hop!!! You won’t even believe how easy this technique is. You’ll want to practice a bit on inexpensive pieces from the thrift store or your recycling barrel, but once you get the hang of it, it’s super easy to make custom, fantastic glassware and home decor items!

If you saw my lantern the other day then you will have seen how easy it was to customize a cheap little item from the dollar store. Today I took a little tea-light holder and added a little etching cream magic.

So this was a little experiment with some masking tape and twine...

I put some masking tape on the glass first and I didn't like the results so I decided to wrap some twine around it and cover it with the etching cream.

The result was this cool texture! I think it would be fun to experiment with different materials!!

Here's the finished project again:

Hi there! Wowzers I've been busy this past week. It's been slow around the blog because I have been under a pile of marking, report cards, final concerts and recitals but as of last night: I AM DONE!! Thank goodness for small miracles!

Tonight I pulled out some very well-loved stamps from Elzybells and used the newest Deconstructed Sketch... Here's my card:

These cows are so cute! I coloured them with Copics (duh) and pastel chalk pencils.

Here's the sketch:

Sketch Guidelines:

Are you ready for Deconstructed Sketch 106? I hope you like it! Here’s the scoop on what you need to do:

1. Use the sketch up top to make a project, any kind you like using any image you like. Use the sketch to inspire your own creativity. Feel free to substitute shapes for what you have available and mount tags and circles to a card base if you’d prefer.

2. Post it somewhere on the internet (your blog, SCS, Flickr, etc). Use keyword DS106 if you post to an online gallery like Splitcoaststampers.

3. Link back here to Inlinkz at the bottom of the post so I can stop by and see it.

4. Check back here next week to see if you are one of this week’s favorites and grab a badge for your blog.

Glass Etching with Stamps

This week we’re having so much fun etching on glass with Stampendous Stamps and Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream. We hope you’ll give this fun media a try. When you use it with stamps, it’s just such an exciting and different way to create beautiful, and useful, home decor!

I got to work altering a cheap-ish tealight lantern I got from my local drugstore. Just FYI, I am no etching expert, this was my first time and I have to say I was pretty excited it turned out so well!! I followed the directions HERE ON THE STAMPENDOUS BLOG and this is how it turned out:

Just a simple sentiment to enhance an already cool little lantern. (Cling Follow Your Art)

When I scraped the embossing powder it came off with my fingernail. You can see how well it worked as a resist, though..

I frosted the rest of the glass panels - which took no time - and the project was complete!

Take a look at what this sassy lady did with the etching cream:

Just like Disney, we have created a lot of artwork and have put many popular stamp sets into our vault. In 2013, we are re-introducing favorites from the vault and are making them available for a limited time.

We've brought four stamp sets out of Technique Tuesday vault so far: Irony,Adored by Ali Edwards, Hash Tags & More and Petal Power. And two more of our popular stamp sets from the past will be available on our Web site on Sunday!

Today, we want to give you a sneak peek in project form of the first of those stamp sets: Simple Sentiments. This project was made with Simple Sentiments and Happyville - Family. I thought this little stick-man holding the flag would suit this sentiment really well. Paired with the manly patterned papers this will be a great card for a dude! I'm happy...

Here are some other sneaks with Simple Sentiments. Thanks for stopping by.

Core'dinations and May Arts Blog Hop

It's the big blog hop today!! We hope you've got a really large beverage, a fluffly kitten and maybe a few hours to spend with us! Be sure to comment on each blog to increase your chances of winning!

Here is my project featuring a David Tutera die cut, May Arts Ribbon, and Stampendous! stamp set Thoughtful Wishes and Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

I did a little step-out tutorial using PanPastels yesterday and I'm having fun exploring different ways to use them! I just love their vibrancy and ease of use.. I used the same materials for today's project: Versamark and the pastels, except for on this card I scraped the versamark across the raised embossing. When I applied the chalks the versamark'd areas grabbed the pigment and stayed dark.

I then sprinkled the Aged White Embossing Enamel (like spreading a pinch of salt on food) over the panel and heated it from underneath:

Then I stamped onto the cardbase where the window in the die cut is and popped up the top panel.

Also be sure to visit our Facebook Page and share one of this week's Blog Collaboration posts on your Timeline for an EXTRA chance to win your choice of a spool of May Arts Ribbon or a tag set from Core'dinations!

Let's review: The Blog Hop Prize package from Stampendous consists of:

CRS5044 Cling Jumbo Butterfly Trio SSH57 Cling Jumbo Handle

A random selection of David Tutera Celebrate Products Available at JoAnn Fabric and Crafts

A random asst. of May Arts Ribbon from our stash - This is Ribbonista Virgina Fynes photo of her storage method!

A random selection of David Tutera Celebrate Products Available at JoAnn Fabric and Crafts,
a Sand It Set from Core'dinations, and a random asst. of May Arts Ribbon from our stash!

THEN - the May Arts Blog is offering us an opportunity to give a way ANY two rolls of May Arts Ribbon! So if you SHARE our Collaboration Posts from our Facebook Page on your Facebook timeline, you will be entered to choose one of those! ALSO - the Core'dinations Blog is offering us two sets of tags for this as well! So FOUR people who SHARE our Facebook Posts will each win one of these. You have to SHARE, not just comment, not just "like", you must SHARE. (and we can tell if you did!). So here we go!

Deconstructed Sketch #104

June 06, 2013

It's time to play along with another great sketch from Jen at Deconstructed Sketches!

If you saw my post from earlier today then you've seen I have a new toy: PanPastels! Here's my pastel-filled card:

I am shocked and amazed that I made a card with no patterned paper... Again... Twice in a row... Crazy.

So here's the low-down: I stamped the background with Annabelle's BBD #3 in Versamark and added pastels.

Then I stamped the main panel with Annabelle's Daisy Delight in black Archival Ink.

Then, I stamped the leaves on some banners and added some pastels to them. One of the cool aspects of the PanPastels is they erase. Once the ink dried I erased the pastel from inside the leaves.

The sentiment is from Sentimental Bluebells.

Here's this week's sketch:

There She Goes Challenge: CAS

June 06, 2013

I don't always get to play along with the There She Goes challenge, but this week I had a little medically-necessary at-home time, so I made a card!

I used a new-to-me product: PanPastels. For a few years now I've looked at them at my local art supply store and just kept walking. I didn't really see the potential, but with the recent popularity of mixed media and art journaling I've watched some tutorials and thought I'd give them a try...

I started by stamping my background (Journal Lines) in Versamark.

Then I applied the pastels with their "Sofft Tool" (basically a makeup sponge)

The colours blend beautifully and they're quite vivid. I like them a lot!

After applying all of the pastels you have to seal it (I used a spray fixative).

I then set about making the card!

I thought that the image combined with the sentiment combined with the colourful background made kind of an ironic joke. Yay me!

Check out this week's There She Goes Challenge and play along! Prizes!

Core'dinations and May Arts Collaboration

Yes, it’s blog hop time again! This time three terrific companies are partnering to bring you some of the hottest and most exciting projects you’ll see! At Stampendous we’re lucky enough to be partnering with the folks at May Arts Ribbon and with the lovely people who bring you Core’dinations papers and the new David Tutera line of creative papers and embellishments.

AND there will be prizes! Here on the Stampendous Impressions Blog we’ll be giving away three prize packages including the Cling Jumbo Butterfly Trio (WITH Free Template included), A Jumbo Perfectly Clear Handle, a random assortment of the David Tutera products, some Core’dinations goodies (again random), a Sand-It tool to make the most of your ColorCore paper, and some yummalicious May Arts Ribbons (random assortment). You will want to be commenting on every post this week, let me tell you!

So I guess the idea behind all of the David Tutera products is that it should be super easy to put a card together - which it was - I just don't seem to feel complete without a little patterned paper! So most of the pieces (card base, orange postage stamp die cut and the sentiment die cut) were from the David Tutera collection, and I added a little October Afternoon paper!! I also added that fun ribbon! (Thank you May Arts!!)

The sentiment: perfection with this patterned paper, don't you think? (Soaring Sentiments Perfectly Clear Stamp Set) I stamped it in a soft grey to coordinate with the papers... I'm so happy with this card!

We hope you've enjoyed the inspiration this week as our team has been playing with the Resin Crafts Blog featuring EnviroTex Jewelry Resin from ETI and their brand new Jewelry Clay! We've had fun bringing you these terrific projects.

Are you ready for another great sketch from Deconstructed Sketches?

Anything with a banner steals my heart! This sketch is originally intended for a horizontal oval-shaped focal point, but you know what?? I really wanted to use this image tonight!

I used some new goodies on this card (Crate Paper) and had fun colouring my girl from Smarty Pants in a cool, hipster colour scheme.

Stampendous Plays With Resin!

May 29, 2013

We just love ETI’s Jewelry Resin, and we had a terrific Blog collaboration with them last year which became one of the all time favorites! This year they’ve added their two part epoxy Resin Clay to our mix, and we’re just so excited! We can’t wait to show you the amazing things we’ve created!

The ring on the right was made by stamping into the Resin Clay (see step-by-step here on the Resin Blog) but instead of using pigments to colour my piece, I used acrylic paint.

Here's what it looked like before I added the Resin (the shiny stuff):

I stamped into the Resin Clay with one of the Cling Royal Insignias (inked with Stazon) and let it dry overnight. I then added paints with my finger and let it dry. Then I added the Resin on top and let that dry 24 hours.

It doesn't look like anything specific, but I love how it looks next to my amber!

Here are some other Design Team Members that are hopping today! Visit them, leave some comments and maybe win some goodies!
