PTI Challenge: Emboss Resist

I gotta admit, I am super excited about the announcements
happening at Nichole's blog and today's post is no exception! I was always
confused and not really sure I was using the gallery properly for their guest star stamper thing they
do all the time.. It's going to be a weekly challenge, and because I basically only do challenges,
this thrills me to no end!

I HAD to play along with the first challenge which is Emboss Resist. (Watch the
video in the post I linked in case you want to know more about
this technique). I don't do this technique often because I find I use patterned paper
on almost all of my creations instead of stamped techniques that re-create the patterned look, but it
sure is a nice way to feature your solid/silhouette stamps.. Take a look at what I made.

Yah, it's the name of the card, but I LOVE this card. Yummy!! The colours I used
to make the background are: woodgrain background stamped in Sweet Blush, then
sponging was done in Berry Sorbet. The ribbon is Pure Poppy and the cardbase
is Smokey Shadow. (All colours are Papertrey Ink).

Can you see the subtle woodgrain pattern in the Damask stamp? That's the magic
of emboss resist.. Love it..

Okay so I'll share some other cards that I don't love the same way as I
do this one, but none-the-less, I really like them too!

So those are my emboss resist cards!

PTI Stamps used: Polka Dot Basics, Beautiful Blooms, Damask Designs. (The woodgrain stamp is from Hero Arts.) Other supplies: Making Memories letters (red), Silhouette cuts (Valentine's Day), May Arts ribbon (white), SU! Scallop Punch.
