It’s almost over…

School, that is.. Last June was a little bit slower than this one, I don’t know why, but this year I am really looking forward to the summer and the less-busy lifestyle of working part-time at my LSS. It will be a nice change of pace, and as it usually is, totally inspiring.
Today I have a few cards to show you that came to be because 1) I bought some new product and 2) I wanted to play with some inks after organizing my stash.
The first card is one I made using a few different Technique Tuesday stamps and some pigment inks.

To achieve this look I stamped the Harlequin Harmony stamp in blue ink. I then cleaned off the stamp and stamped over it again with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I was able to some sponging with orange pigment inks and it wouldn’t affect the blue stamp. This technique is called “Emboss Resist” and it’s great for background stamps like this, or silhouette images. To complete the card I used a sentiment from the Love always wins set by Ali Edwards .I stamped a little heart in the same blue ink right next to the scripted “love” to tie it all together visually.
The next couple of cards were a result of me playing around with some of Imaginisce’s Roly Rosies. I didn’t have the rolling tool so I thought I would have some difficulties, but I just used a pair of crafting tweezers and rolled the flowers up and curled the edges.

The final step was the hardest part: gluing the rolled flower to the base. I was using Crystal Effects and it worked all right, but I will try something else next time.
The sentiments are from SRM’s Sticker Sentiments: Love and I used this particular sentiment because I need wedding cards! That is one kind of card I rarely make so I am going to be consciously making them for the next few weeks.
Thanks for stopping by!
