It's been a long time since I've paper-pieced, so I picked a pretty patterned paper for the mug (BasicGrey's PB&J) and went to town! I used one of my favourite sets from There She Goes called Perk Up because my go-to sweet treat is always some sort of coffee from Starbucks (or somewhere better if I can get it!). After cutting out the mug I added a little shading with my trusty charcoal pencil and blending stump. I feel like paper-piecing sometimes looks one-dimensional, so the shading really helps to make objects appear to be three-dimensional... At least I hope it does ;)
