I love clear cards... They seem magical to me, somehow. They are more difficult to make because you have to strategically plan out where the adhesives will go, but I love the results.. Here's my card using some new My Mind's Eye papers and a stamp or two (houndstooth BG and sentiment) from a Technique Tuesday set called Dream Big.

Hi there! Teri ( our fearless leader at Technique Tuesday ) has given us an inspiration challenge. Truth be told, inspiration challenges are the hardest for me because I never seem to stick to my original plan... Anyone else have this problem?? *tumbleweed* Anyway...












Confused? Lol.. I was originally going for the soft blue look, then a bunch of green crept in (which still fits the color scheme..) but then I started distressing and it got a little crazy... So it's based on the colors with no red, hehehe.











I colored the butterflies with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze. They blend together beautifully when they're wet! After the glaze dried I sprayed the card with glimmer mists and used my flat iron to do my magic..

I love the current challenge at the Stampendous blog: texture... And lots of it!!! I used a new "Frantage" product called Embossing Enamel in "shabby pink." Check it out:


I stamped the berry image with Versamark ink then doused it with the embossing enamel. Then, to add more texture I sprinkled the powder onto the paper, kind of like salt, then I heated it up FROM UNDERNEATH!! This prevented the powder from flying everywhere... That's never fun.



This is the prettiest embossing powder you've ever seen... It has white, gold, and pink embossing powder with gold glitter!! It really sparkles in person.

The other items are: thank you sentiment by Stampendous, Prima flower, Sizzix die cut branch, and Maya Road ribbon. (isn't it gorgeous?!?!)

I can’t believe it’s been a month of challenges! Time has flown by and I am thrilled with the amount of talented participants we’re getting with the challenge as each week goes by. I am loving the sketches Kim has picked out – they are by no means ordinary/average/standard and I am really enjoying the process of working through the unique layouts…

 

Here’s this week’s card. No colouring. Just cardstock and chipboard elements. Shocking, I know..

 

These are brand-new papers from Bo Bunny, and by brand-new, I mean they arrived at my LSS yesterday! I am not a huge Bo Bunny fan but I gotta say that this line (called Alora) is totally cute and I love it! The dotted paper is from a 6x6 pad, the red patterned shape is from a pack of “noteworthy” cardstock elements, and the house is from a pack of chipboard stickers..

A-tisket a-tasket a green and yellow basket…Melyssa has created the most darling Easter stamp set! This mini-set will be sure to please that egg-stra special person. The sentiment fonts are so whimsically fun and you’ll enjoy coloring these Easter eggs. This is a must have set that’s great for more than just easter! (Thank goodness, because I don’t celebrate Easter with very much enthusiasm… )

Look at that darling stamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Melyssa is a copic user and I swear she designs her stamps for me. lol.. Okay, not just me, but for all Copic crazies like me! It’s awesome when you get an image with fun hair and clothes – it’s kind of like playing with a Barbie isn’t it!?
Supplies: All papers by My Mind’s Eye: Cardstock by PTI; Die cuts are Nestabilities and the embossed clouds were done with a PTI impression plate. Ribbon by PTI; Pins by My Mind’s Eye.

Hi again!! I am kind of REALLY excited about today’s share.. This week’s TSG release is my favourite one yet and every set is really special. Today’s set is all about crayons, paint, canvas, and paint brushes and Torico has created a set that will release our inner child. This set promises to bring out the artist in you. The darling line art in this set will having you pulling out all your favourite mediums and reconnecting to the “grown-up” artist that you are.



It’s kind of hard to get that cool melted look without the… well… melted wax, but I used my trusty Copic markers to colour up the crayons and draw some streaks… To get that shiny look I coloured over all of the markers and streaks with Versamark pen and covered it with embossing powder. Then heated it, ofcourse..




I gathered up a nice little rainbow collection of Twinery baker’s twine and threaded it through the top. This sentiment is the perfect addition to this tag and there are SO many people in my life that I could give this to! I can’t wait to give it away.

When I ordered some stamps from Stampendous during CHA I had no idea what I was in for. Lots of times when I’m colouring an image I am content, calm, relaxed… but when I was colouring these guys, I was just plain freaking.. I don’t know if I’ve ever been so proud of how my colouring came out.

 

I will be teaching these four cards and all of the techniques involved at Clipper Street in March and April. If you’re in the area be sure and sign up.. Spots in this class are already going fast!!

I have made a tonne of Valentine’s Day cards in the past couple of days so I can stock up my rack at the flower shop and this is one of my fav’s. I don’t know what it is, but I think layering different-shaped nesties on top of each other is such a cool look. That little cupid is a Tim Holtz die cut (a movers and shapers die) and I cut it out of some Best Creations glitter paper. It’s not as sparkly as using loose glitter, but a heck of a lot quicker and cleaner!!

I just finished designing a class for Clipper Street Scrapbook Co. and I’m really proud of the results. I aimed to design an all-stamping technique class that would reacquaint my students with those old tried-true techniques like:

Rock ‘n Roll:

 

Generation Stamping:

 

 

Heat Embossing:

 

 

and Cracked Glass:

 

 

And aren’t those papers gorgeous?? It’s the “Nantucket” line from Pink Paislee that I’ve been using lately. I’m kind of obsessed, lol.. If you live in the area I would love to see you there!!
