Today I am sharing the new Greenhouse Society stamp set from Technique Tuesday. Here’s my sample:
It’s a gorgeous image that conveys calm and peace along with two very simple sentiments. I thought of a warm autumn sky when I first looked at this stamp so I assembled all of my orange/yellow/gold glimmer mists and ink sprays and got to work creating a background. I quite literally used 8-10 different mists on watercolour paper and trust me, there’s no rhyme or reason – just spray!! One thing I like to do AFTER spraying all the mists is give the paper one last final mist over everything with water. There are a bunch of brands of mists out there that are made to react with water and a lot of times misting with water gets rid of messy splotches and weird colour mixes.
One final touch was to mount the image on brown glitter cardstock. It might seem like a weird choice, but there are a lot of copper highlights in real life and the glitter complements it beautifully..
