Art Journaling Catch-Up

So I've been doing a fair bit of Art Journaling lately so I thought I'd catch you up on what I've been up to.

Recently my LSS, Clipper Street, had a guest instructor visit (the amazing Finnabair) and even though I wasn't able to take a class with her, her style inspired me greatly! I decorated a few journal covers that capture some of her spirit

This process starts out kind of ugly with a bunch of mis-matched embellishments and colours:

But after a few layers of paint it starts to take shape!

I really liked how this one turned out, especially since it was my first attempt, so I tried a second book:

This one was a labour of love and I cherish every little detail:

These flowers that used be every colour under the sun...

Metal trinkets transformed...

Even the back cover has a lovely green glow..

So these books now serve as additional art journals (in addition to my almost-full Dylusions Journal) and I've been filling up the pages little-by-little..

First, a page inspired by Joy Taylor

I need to learn to embrace white space.. This helped!

And now a couple more:

This page uses PanPastels, Gelatos, black Gesso, and a viewfinder stencil I made!

There's a new Dina Wakely stencil on this one, and the stars are from my new Mixed Media Backgrounds set.

So.. That's what I'm doing at 1am... How 'bout you?
