I don't know what it is about Kim Hughes' stamps, but when I use them, I just FEEL trendy.. Her stamps are SO cool. WOW..

Okay, I'm done gushing for the mo'. I played this week's sketch challenge on SCS, something I haven't done in a while, and here's my card:

Stamps: Cornish Heritage farms (birthday bash)

Paper: SU! (kraft, pacific point, kiwi kiss) papertrey white, MM Noteworthy Paper

Ink: espresso (ranger), bamboo leaves (momento)

Accessories: slice, buttons, edge scraper, paper piercing tools

Techniques: paper piercing

Since I've become obsessed with cardmaking I've kinda let scrapbooking fall by the wayside. It is my personal goal to:

1. get more pictures developed over the next year instead of letting them take up space on my hard-drive
2. USE the pictures from aformentioned point to make more layouts
3. Get as good at scrapbooking as I am at cardmaking
4. Use cardmaking supplies on my layouts (stamps!)

Some lofty goals, I realize, but there it is.. And here's a layout. Took me about 1 hour of actual time.. that wasn't counting the 2 hours of blog-surfing I did while I was supposed to be completing it..

I think I've mentioned this before, but my fiance, Ian, has an odd hobby. When we first started dating I had a hard time seeing him do it, but over time I've gotten used to it. I forgot how freaky he looks doing it until my brother came over the other night and Ian pulled it out while we were watching a movie, and started doing it right in front of us. My brother stared at him in shock, disgust, and embarrasment. I was like, "Oh yah, my fiance is a freak, I forgot..."

What am I talking about?



Cross-stitching.. If you were thinking something DIRTY then it's just your sick mind playing with you.. But this is what Ian looks like most nights. He listens to books on his laptop, or watches sports, and cross-stitches.. He's currently working on a Mirabilia piece for his sister's wedding 3 years ago.. So he's right on time! Here's a close-up. It's not my thing, but it's nice.


P.S. no offense to any other males that do this, it was just NEW for me, and I guess I had prejudices regarding those who cross-stitch.. Sorry!!!!

P.P.S. This is all in jest.. I love him dearly and love that he has a hobby that is so unique!!!

                                                                                          

There was a coupon at my LSS for 40% off so I decided to bite the bullet and buy a Thomas Kinkade stamp by Cornish Heritage Farms... It was hard! The first ink i used was not good because I could barely make out all the dots, and then once I found the right ink (my trusty Nick Bantock by Ranger in Lamp Black) I didn't know where to start... I don't like this style of stamp, if you've noticed I'm kind of a "trendy" or "modern" stamper, not traditional, but like I said, I just had to try...

I hate it (My card, not the stamp...) lol.. Any of you just not like them? Or am I the only one??? Or do I just suck at it??

The Limited Supply Challenge at Splitcoast today was to use mainly blue on your card... So here's my blue Christmas!













LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!! Teachers are JUST as excited (if not more) as students about Christmas break, I can assure you, and today is going to be awesome... Especially at 2:30 when the bell goes! hahaha...

Sorry I have been absent recently.. Concerts and performances coming out of the wazoo... I love being a performer, and conductor, but December makes me wonder why I am involved in so many things... This month I am busy 13 nights before Christmas.. I haven't even started my shopping yet. I'm getting scared.

So on to the reason I'm posting. I thought I would post my process in putting my Christmas card together.. I copied a card I did last year because I loved it so much, but I wanted to change up some elements, and here are the results...
