So, my friend and "boss" Kimberly Crawford (of Mint Motif stamps) approached the MM design team and asked us if we'd be interested in playing along with a little Christmas challenge.. I said YES, but not every day (the crazy life and schedule of a high school music teacher around Christmas time is starting to kick in) and I wanted to play this first day just so I could let you all know about it! Every day there's going to be a different challenge and lots of inspiration, so if I'm not posting, be sure to check Kimberly's blog to see who is... AND PLAY ALONG!
So today's challenge is Mercury Glass:
I own two mercury glass ornaments and they were a gift, and are very precious to me (and heavy!!) but sadly I don't have a lot of supplies that would mimic the look of it besides silver ink.. hehe.. Kimberly has a tutorial done up and I can't wait to see it, but I'll show you what I did:
I covered the back side of clear buttons with silver pigment ink (colorbox) then sprinkled some Ultra-thick embossing enamel (UTEE) on them and applied heat.
I drew the lines around the card as well as the bauble wires with a Copic Multiliner pen (I copied the idea from a Papertrey Ink stamp) and stamped the sentiment with black ink. This card couldn't be easier, and SO quick to pull together. Do they look like Mercury Glass??? From a distance maybe?? haha.. I had fun anyway. Thanks for stopping by!
